Not sure if it has already been posted here, but the Telegraph is reporting that the Dragons are talking with 3 players who are under contract with other clubs for 2025 or beyond.
So as well as Safiti and Holmes, RCG is also being looked at for 2025.
all upgrades on what we have now. A bit nervous about age but I guess incremental improvement is better than what we have now

For all those Webster clinger ons after last year. Warriors about to say bye bye to the finals for 2024.
Cant even beat Parra at home. What a fall from grace after losing nobody and gaining RTS, Capewell etc
The NRL fan favs are losing their mojo..again
Imagine if that was the Dragons.
Maybe Webster cant coach after all.. who knows
Ill judge him after next year
Sharks can gave AFB for $1 mill a year
Enjoy the 1 good year you get before he agitates

Even Mary and Hook had us up in the top 4 early in the year on more than one occasion. Means nothing come business end. Webster can coach and he has a pretty good team to run out there. No excuses. Flanagan for coach but has crap players on the whole. We will never be anything but slightly competitive.

In fact none of these teams have a buckley's chance of getting a look in at a premiership in next few years:

Tigers
Dragons
Warriors
Knights
Eels
Sea Eagles
Titans

That's what you call an unhealthy competition. Those are just mostly ARL teams who have been making up numbers for decades now. If they can recruit they have to pay the price or are pure untouchables like us.

Stefano signing with Storm, Talagi off to Panthers, everyone else to Roosters or Dogs etc etc nothing is going to change. Melbourne will give us a pounding this weekend but it's this aspect of the game that hurts the most.

We just need to get these bloody contracts signed the longer we dither the chance other teams swoop
If we are signing better quality just get it done
Because we are negotiating with players who are already under contract elsewhere for 2025, the process gets dragged out while the clubs talk about how much each party will put in for the deal.
Think the process would be so much quicker if we chased more players off contract this year.

Yah I get the feeling there wont be a lot of big name players off contract come Nov 1, could be wrong, but seems to me the market has never been more competitive.. and they will either get signed in advance and numerous others seem to have just agitated and sorted it out already.

Im hoping now that Stefano is done this whole prop jigsaw can start to play out.. now we can hopefully get some clarity on what NAS/Storm r doing, and the rest of the saifiti, horborough, rcg, tevaga etc can sort itself out.

Blaize also to a much lesser extent means we can also start chasing outside backs and halves again... he was a bit of a unicorn covering 1thru6.

Although Flano has alluded to recruiting a

spearhead prop
Strike back
Half

I can’t help but feel Jack Williams from the sharks who is still off contract would be the gritty fast ball playing middle backrower that Flano likes

ie if a few players move on you would think he may a worthy addition?

Birdy - Max F
Lawrie - another experienced value prop
Fafita - Jack Williams
Rava - ?
Egan - ?

If Fafita was on close to $250-$300k pa I would think the Sharks would offer more than $350k ish for Jack Williams

he brings intensity and we are seeing teams that get a roll on in the NRL this year just pile on points

big scores

he is quick off the mark, opportunistic and aggressive

If we are after players that are still under contract unfortunately that will take time and multiple clubs will have the chance to bid if they want, its the way the managers get the most juice out of the lemon.

Strongest forward from weakest team in NRL goes to strongest team in NRL.
Hence making weakest team weaker and strongest team stronger.
Got it.
