why not? Our work has breathalizer to enter the gates and random drug tests - why not for football players
ASDA can show up whenever they want and take a sample for testing, they can show up on game day, training or even at home, from memory all professional athletes must fill out a "diary" in advance where they will be for the week, if they are not there or contactable it may be considered a failed drug sample, im pretty sure this is for all athletes including NRL players

Re Mam
Let the law do what it does 1st and then see what the NRL does.

Hopefully the NRL has learned its lesson and waits for the judicial outcome and its evidence to become public before imposing penalties.

Then when it does impose a penalty hopefully it is truly befitting based on where the public expect it to be and no more protection rackets of “I booked into a Bali rehab facility”

If Mam took drugs, he's up the crapper.

He's only young so, BNE may what we did with JDB. Hunt's departure looks on the cards.

I truley have no idea why anyone would drive know days let alone players with the stand down rule and Mam's lucky no one got hurt badly.

Get a cab and enjoy yourself with no possibilities of ruining yours or other lives.
When you are under the influence, especially ICE/cocaine, you dont give a shit about anyone or anything, the only thing you stop to think about is where you are getting your next hit from.

Don’t your points 3 & 4 already answer your own question about the quality of the squads or do you also need reminding that the 2022 side had Mybe, Mc Cullough, Mc Guire, Burns, Gosieweski, Woods, Burgess and Amone in its ranks?

If they are equal to the 2024 squad then who would you swap any of them for?

Liddle, Leilua certainly huge upgrades on what we had especially as they weren’t sin binned or constantly suspended like others.

Kyle Flanagan, Tom Eisenhuth were considered good signings or are you saying they aren’t?

3 byes and play the 2 premier teams in the comp during origin was certainly a softer draw and on top of that 2024 had the complete implosion of Souths, Broncos and Eels who have all sacked their coaches.

But somehow in your opinion it was like for like well I don’t agree and TBH I don’t think anyone with a fair mind would.
Didn’t Hook sign most of those planks though?
So yeah, it may have been a worse roster, because Hook signed half of the QLD cup!

That might be the case for someone in the grip of a serious addiction, I doubt whether Mam was at that stage, however no question driving under the influence of any drugs is a not a good idea.

Yeh, but coming out of Covid with no minor or grades playing for two years, had to build the floor somehow. Not a fan of all those signings either but always remember looking at the roster when he first came and thinking it was the weakest Saints squad I’d seen!

Ice (Meth) and Cocaine both enhance energy, alertness and happiness, and they can both lead to numerous long-term health problems. Both drugs can be snorted, injected or smoked.

As a young bloke I knew many on either or both. It was the meth that really screwed lives

The body breaks down cocaine and meth differently, which means the duration of the effects also differ. Meth stays in the body longer than cocaine does.

long term Cocaine use = Headaches & risk of
  • Reproductive damage and infertility
  • Lung damage and disease
  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
Pretty much like a smoker

Long term Meth Use =
  • Deteriorated teeth and gums (meth mouth)
  • Brain damage similar to that caused by Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Meth sores, skin infections and acne Lung, kidney and liver damage
  • Hallucinations
Much more permanent

Meth is much more addictive and socially scorned whereas Cocaine is considered a 'party drug' that is socially acceptable for casual use. The only issue is cocaine is a shitload more expensive than Meth. But $$$ are of no concern to highly valued young NRL players.

Me?

Pass the scotch!

Bro, he signed Gerard Beale and Tautau Moga.
And they actually played quite a bit of NRL with us!
Mbye, McCulloch and McGuire were his marquee signings but Beale and Moga were just wow!
