Unsure RFM and Tom Eisenhuth make the 17 man line up

I would rather play both Coachman’s and one of the junior bolters.
This is probably the last year for RFM, JDB, and Eisenhuth. We have not signed any big forward names for 2026, so it looks like it will soon be all up to Sua, Leluia, and the young guys. Couchman boys, F. Molo (last year of contract), V. Fifita (last year of contract). LPT will get at least a few runs.

Not much depth there. Lawrie, of course. Who have I missed?

We have some young ones who have not played NRL, Halangahu, Egan, Stewart, Latu. Do they get a run this year? The forwards are looking at a changing of the guard.

Agree with you so F Molo and Fifita are both playing for contracts which generally motivates players, we should have spare money for a big name prop if one becomes available other than that it’s the young brigade who have to start to put in and stake their futures.

I'm sure Flanno will watch pre-season training form and pick the best 17 players. I hope Fifita and Tonga rise to the level of consideration to be selected in the top 17. Two big young props that could make a big difference in 2025.

I checked the article @hewi posted and it seems the thoughts were 9th, up at least 6 places from last season.

And the booking for a finals birth at $4.95, up from $7.00 plus this time last season and many had you at longer odds.

So there’s a bit more confidence in the market.

The loss of Bunt and Lomax is not raising two many eyebrows at all.

Val played his best footy under Flanno. I think the re-acquaintance will be psychologically easy and hopefully dynamic.

Gutho has a massive personal point to prove. He was an eels marquee player for ages. The glue that held them together.

Does anyone know what coin Atkinson Is allegedly on for the next three seasons?

He played a lot of games last year, didn’t set the world alight, but he’s still young and there’s a player in there somewhere.

He is one of Flanno dark horses.

$300-$400?

$1.5 over 3
Ok.

Hmmm, a bit than I expected.

He hasn’t played a lot of NRL, body should be good, hitting his prime

I think the average is roughly about 400, so Flanno must have him earmarked for special development.

Perhaps he’s got pace and a step.

I like wingers who can kick in play too.

I think you mean Lawson. I do not know what he is getting but I am sure it is just novice money. I have the impression Lawson is very confident that he is going to be a star and is just happy Flanno has given him a chance.

I was a bit confused with my positions.

Atkinson is a rising utility half/ back who broke out last year. That accounts for his $500k I guess.

But obviously, flanno is engineering the side.

My understanding is that coaches regularly coach each players in different positions as cover.

I think most of the backs start the pre-season in a genuine wrestle. But I think you’ve got a few players I would be resting until the comp starts proper. Maybe get some kids involved.

My list of resting players:

Gutho
illias
Corey Allan
Val
Sloan
JDB
Sua
Cookey
Francis

Maybe a few more.

That pre season Gasnier thing in the Charity Shield freaked me out awhile ago. 2005 I think. He was a freak footballer.

Ilias came to training late bcs of his injury. So he probably needs all of the team-time we can give him. If he and KF don't gel with Cook and Gutho it is going to be a long season.

I would only rest injured players. All should be training hard in the hope of being selected for trial games.
