redvdave,
You would think clubs would covet rusted on members for a fan base and want to build on it . Whilst i was in sydney i would go to all events at kogarah and even to those at win . Now its just too expensive for me and just watching players on the fence is nowhere as good as having them mingle with fans in a function room . Is steve edge still involved with these functions ?? Dave whats wrong with having more fan days through the season and have as you said a couple of "better" functions for the long term members along with the normal captains run where you watch from the seats and I agree re our social media department needs to be a lot better with reporting on lower grades players etc
That reminds they used to always do a meet and greet for interstate games it was a way of thanking the fans for travelling such a far distance (or acknowledging those who live interstate and don't get to see their team on a weekly basis)

Sadly though the club don't know how to capitalise on a good thing, there's countless of examples I could use but one that'll always stick in my mind is going to Saints leagues club the following day after the grand win and everywhere was packed the bar, the downstairs merch area everywhere. Unfortunately though service was unbelievably slow a patron asked how come it's so slow and taking so long to get service? To which they replied we didn't think it would be busy today. Yep fans waited 30 years for a grand final win and they didn't think people would come the next day to celebrate absolutely embarrassing.

What about Sizzler closing at 9PM on Grand Final night.

I don't doubt a prop like Hazelton would be on our radar.
Could well down to what his asking price is.
Flanagan is fairly tight when it comes to spending our cap dollars.

He spends it on players he thinks are worth it for him/the team/the club. Gutho, Cook, Holmes.

Hazelton certainly fills a need in an area lacking depth where we haven't had success in recruitment. Failed to get AFB, Saifiti, RCG...

Apparently dosh is the stumbling block for Newcastle. So forget Flanno. He still keeps his lolly money tied up in a hankie in his pocket.
We now have filled all necessary positions bar front row.

No point saving a for anything else at this late stage especially if he takes molos place...

Hang on this is for 2026 we're talking about right? He's not leaving Sharks right now, why would they let him go?

By that time the whole Molo thing will have been resolved one way or the other, plus there will also likely be spots available due to player departures like M Molo, Fifita, and maybe JDB.

He doesn't need to be the X Factor / Alpha prop just a good, solid hard-working prop for fair money, and an upgrade on one of the players being released at that time.

Correct.

My misunderstanding. I thought the gummies were looking to alleviate cap pressure for this coming season.

As you say though, regardless, he would be a good get for next season anyhow but of course there's no rush if it's for next season...

Supposedly the Knights won't be signing Tom Hazelton for 26. I wonder if he'd like to team up with Dan Atkinson next year...

I really like Hazelton, he would be a good signing. You can see he loves the hard work and tackling everything that moves. He'd excel at the Dragons with a higher profile and more responsibility as a leader for the young blokes. And he's huge.

If this information has already been posted, my apologies.
Heard Ryan Webb on the radio say no breach notice has been issued to F Molo at this point of time.
Molo remains on leave from training as the Dragons and Molo and his management work through the issue of the alleged comment by one of the Dragon's coaching staff that has lead to Molo requesting a release.

Hence why Flanno has been so tight with money. Next offseason could be just as interesting as this one with many potential signings & cleanouts

But is he the X factor style prop Flanno wants?

Probably not but he's a solid performer, hard worker and remember he's a late bloomer so his body should still be in good condition and he has room for improvement. He's just turned 26 but has only played 44 first grade games (just 2 full seasons under his belt). Forcing his way into the No.8 jersey in what is a very good pack is quite an achievement and shows he's just getting better. He'd be an excellent addition. Flanno could do worse and frankly, beggers can't be choosers.
