I think we can watch saturdays game and then start making our astute assessments.. we are all still guessing based off a few minutes in trials.. and several of them didnt even play trials like CT & Liddle..

I watched him closely yesterday and he looked like he was struggling just minutes after he got out there, major plodding going on and he left a hole for a Penrith try scorer to stroll through. He looked like early Kerr, top heavy or just tired the way he was moving, slow loping strides. Maybe it was round 1 rust but he looked less than fit. I know he plays alright most weeks but I was a bit put off the way he played yesterday .
Thank god we didnt sign him for 500k holy shit, sharks are crazy 🤣

All four NRL teams played poorly. Cronulla and Penrith both seemed panicked. Cole is not a replacement for Luai. And across the park neither the Warriors nor Canberra look like a threat to our side. Chooks with their heads cut off. Looking at them, I now feel more confident about our halves.

Good we would of had to pay him what he isn't worth.
$450K was more than enough.
Paying players like him overs is how we got into the situation we are in and just starting to get out of.
I’m happier with Guler, and I don’t want too many older guys with the younger guys coming thru. We have to balance the team to keep and evaluate the cream.

I was impressed with Stewart in the trials. He looks like weight is coming on quicker than the likes of the couchmans over the last few years so hopefully he can keep chucking it on and be part of a bigger middle rotations

Stewart is very tall and size wise he will be very well suited to 1st grade, he just has to develop a style that works for him.. whether its making metres or a lock or a 2nd rower.. he has so much to learn and practice.

It's just that I wanted Klemmer (or a 'fit' Sele or a lobotomised Frank) in that #17 spot.. world of difference in 1st grade impact... definitely nervous when our starting props come off.. normally we have atleast one big name prop on the bench.. although Ryan is going pretty good tbf.

Stewart is extremely tall though, not much of a difference between him and Tonga, hopefully its one of their advantages.... but otherwise I think they will prove to be quite different players.. Tonga I think will be more explosive and probably bigger collisions, but we will find out more soon enough.. both of them are still making the adjustment to NSW Cup, even Stewart was in and out of Flegg last year.

Our forward pack is developing nicely.

Saturday will be the first real test.

live the look of the KOE Cup pack too.

If a couple more come through to first grade we won’t need Francis Molo or Dave Klemmer.

If developed successfully, Flanno’s Babes here we come
It’s nice to have old henchman around to back up the young fellas though.

Stewart has excellent tackle technique which probably got him the nod against a mobile and fast moving dogs pack. I'm sure both will get plenty of chances this year and hopefully they both prove themselves to be nrl quality youngsters, that would set the tone for a long line of good juniors.
