At least Blake Lawrie didn't make his usual 3 handling errors as he does every other game. But I guess it's easier to not stuff when you only play about 10 minutes.
To be fair I don't think Lawrie has ever been too bad with his handling. But even if he was, he didn't have enough time for handling errors because he used all his time up taking an eternity to get to his feet after he was tackled.
I trust Flanno will get us there eventually but FMD I can't for the life of me understand how Lawrie gets anywhere near our top 17 players, even with injuries to other players.
Having said that the only front rower who can hold his head up after yesterday was young Toby - he's a real good one and needs more help.

Leilua is in danger of following in his brother's footsteps

I.E. he looks intent of eating himself out of an NRL career

Does he have the same obsession with Oporto Chicken?

He looks like he not only ate a shitload of burgers, but swallowed the whole f**king franchise

Possm has been saying he should be played as a middle and I am thinking maybe he is right. He no longer has the mobility for the edge.

If he doesn't like it, fine. His contract is 3 years, $2.3m, until the end of 2026. That is way over what he is worth but we were desperate. Maybe he could go to superleague for 2026 with Lawrie and we could promote some mobile young guys with better cardio.

Leaving out young guns, these players are some of those who are off contract by end 2026 or earlier.

Lawrie, Ravawala, Hame Sele, Feagai, Cook, JDB, Eisenhuth, BMM, RFM, Leluia, Liddle, Ilias, Sloan, Guler, Klemmer, Su'a (player option for 2027).

That is a pretty miserable list. So much dead wood. Who would you keep?

Signed for 2027. Val, Gutho, KF, Suli.

Again, two years older and not so impressive.

There is going to have to be a clean sweep.

Out of that lot keep Liddle and Sloan, maybe Sua.

Before then, get some (more) NRL experience into the Couchmen, Stewart, Egan, Tsougranis, LPT, Latu, Halangalu, Lui, LKT, Buchanan, Finau, Reed. (There are probably a few more but these guys look likely prospects, lets see how they handle it)

We need a big prop even if only for the first 10 minutes of each half. Providing he put in max effort for those 10 minutes and even if he did ont off-load the ball, he coudl do great working over the opposition front row early in each half.

I don't knw what's going on with Holmes, maybe he is carrying an injury.

We need to move some players to other positions:
Our halves are not firing.
Our prop rotation needs an overhall; Guler, Leilua, Klemmer, and T Couchman.
Backrow Forwards, Suli, Su'A, and De Belin.
17. Stuart.

I think the backs are ok, I would leave Ilias for now, his kicking wasn’t too bad. We can’t rely on K.Flan to kick for us. Sloan is a must. I think Finau needs to be the other winger, we need speed. CT is only there as we lack forwards to get us out of our red zone.
As others have mentioned, the forwards are a shambles. Flanno really needs to get his front row rotation right. Klemer, Guhler, Luc and JDB for mine. The back rowers need to be super fit and able to play 80 minutes if need be.
Two props on the bench with another who can play prop/second row. Other bench spot is for cookie/liddle.
Even if we get that balance right, we are still missing a big imposing type prop who can scatter the defensive line. We really needed to be more aggressive in the market, Lodge is the body type we needed. Even someone like Keppie looks the goods now.
