Rumours and facts:

Lawson has triggered a 1yr extension (ie for '26) and joined the top 30. Good mates with Mark N.

Liddle deal is ongoing and, unless something untoward happens, it will be done.

No offer to JDB as yet. There's a balance here that has to be worked out with our young forwards coming through and maintaining some experience. I think we'll wait until closer to years end before getting into any contract negotiations with him.
Young Couchman and Egan will return to the main NRL team next year along with Ravalawa (unless he stays at Souths).

JH is probably next in line to make a debut.

Payne Hass manager is asking other Nrl clubs if they are interested on signing him long term going to the open market November 1.

The Broncos are playing like 1 very unhappy team atm. Besides Haas, even Cobbo looks disinterested and barely makes an impact on a game.

Would I go all out for Haas?

If he's genuinely looking at moving away from the Broncos, then yeah throw everything at him $$ wise and length of contract (up to 5yrs), plus throw in Mary's jetski, just for good measure.

As much as I would like Haas I think we need to keep our young forwards and look for an experienced front rowers on a little less than Haas. We also need a game breaker. I don't know about our young half backs coming through but we need a top halfback now.

JDB re-signing is an absolute no brainer. I really believe he is good for another 2 years.
The Lawson re-signing was automatic - triggered if and when he made his first grade debut. This explains why they took their time giving him a start. They have seen enough to know he could develop into a very special player.
Things starting to fall into place. We just really need an Alpha male front rower and a player who can kick in general play.

This and the fact that we supposedly have loads of cap space, is why I think we should look to make big money approaches to Katoa and Haas.

They both reportedly are keen to move back to Sydney.

These two combined with the plethora of youth we have coming through would be great.

Aim high and you just never know, it may come off...

Or we hire a good salesman recruiter who can sell the dream. In an organisation there are important positions that cannot be given to someone's son, friend etc. It is imperative that a position as important as recruitment and retention goes to the best available person. And in some cases find a way to steal, shake the best loose from their current posting.
Millward and Haran should not be employed by us. They are so far away from the best available in what they do, that it is embarrassing.

We should take a leaf out of Uncle Nicks book. Offer a fair price or slightly lower than market value, coach the player on the usual spin like ‘ he wanted to play for a famous club etc. etc and offer him a job for life.

We want our players to have a "Win at all costs" attitude. That should also be a non- negotiable if you want to be in our BOD, coaching staff, etc
