We go after a lot more players than is made public, we just dont land em... that said I would like to see us be more ambitious with signing 20-23yr old kids stuck behind incumbents who have a fair bit of cup or a small bit of first grade under their belt already... maybe an outside back that could be our 10yr fullback or centre after starting out on the wing... some clubs are queued 3 deep with these guys... I think we have settled a few too many times with sloan/ct/feagai/allan for example.. 1 or 2 of them is one thing for depth, I get that.. but I think we need to take a little risk and leave a first grade spot open so we have a chance to land something with more promise..

Tamale would be one such example with the Raiders taking a real punt on him.. but have to admit I thought that was a huge gamble on their part.. but they do have other outside backs if it hadnt worked out...

Iongi is another. and again ballsy call to let Gutho go, but holy hell that is a 10yr fullback they have there.

My situation is my metabolism doesn't allow me to gain too much weight and with COPD my lungs are working overtime to get air and this means keeping my weight down. At 62kg it is certainly not a man's weight. Medication hasn't helped as well. I certainly would love to be 75kg to 80kg but cannot put the weight on now.

Fitness doesn't mean fast and furious and non stopping. It comes differently to people. Many people go to the gym, walk or run for miles and they would generally feel fit and healthy and moreso if they always eat the right foods and do not smoke and not drink excessively. Many people play sports golf, tennis, swimming, surfing, league, soccer etc etc and depending on their abilities, may play professional and if so would have to maintain quality fitness and build stamina and resilience if they want to have any success or ongoing success. Their minds also would need to be positive all of the time. Cake and Luc do have weight problems that would impact on their fitness. The fitness and strength and conditioners staff at the Dragons surely would have them on a special program for diet and fitness but I wonder??

In the case of our signings which as you say there is a deafening silence for, I wonder why things are so quiet on this issue. If we have one spot left which needs filling before the June 30 deadline surely someone in this poorly run organisation has someone lined up, surely? Another reject?
Sorry to hear that DD. It sounds like you're keeping positive, though, and taking care of yourself.

Yes, it is so quiet. At least our hopes are not getting up for nothing. Maybe they are just going to sign one of our young players, so no one else does? Sexton is probably going to Cronulla.

Yeah all good Gardenia. Thanks for your concern mate. Guys like me can't wait that much longer to see some success at the club.

It could very much be that we haven't gone to other clubs for a player to sign because they will sign a player already at the club to be in the Top 30 as you say.

So if Cronulla sign Sexton, he will compete against Hynes and Trindall for one of the halves spots?
