I know everyone is entitled but utterly absurd postGeez. If they sign Cobbo I’ll have one tentative foot pointing in the direction of the sack Flanno camp.
Not a front rower. Not a half. Might have “focus” issues. I just don’t see the point.
This club does my head in.
We have a spot in the 30 w latu moved on. I’d be keeping Sloan around this yearIf any deal hinges on moving Sloan on then it may become an issue, i wonder if Brisbane would entertain a swap?
My concern about Cobbo is for two reasons- 1 Wollongong is a long way from Cherbourg- his spiritual and cultural home where he goes for support from his extended indigenous family 2. He shows strong signs of mental health issues- particularly depression. He has looked and played disinterested in some of his recent matches and also appears puffy and overweight. Why the surprise at the negative comments? Cobbo adds nothing that we actually need. Maybe, maybe justified if we already had a great set of forwards and a great set of halves and we were looking for some icing on the cake in the outside backs. Maybe. Not to mention that he looks about as fit as Blake Lawrie at the moment - almost identical bulges in the front of the jersey. Plus the well known risk of his ability to stay focused on football. It’s cap money we can use elsewhere in positions that so obviously need improving.
I really hope it’s just media speculation because I’m SO over watching this club sign players that other clubs are happy to let go (not including Gutho in that list - he was an upgrade at fullback). I’m so over watching this club sign players that don’t actually improve the roster. I’m so over watching this club sign players that will ensure we stay stuck in the bottom 8 of the ladder.
i know we have roster space just unsure if we want a 1.1 million on our books in two wingers. We have a spot in the 30 w latu moved on. I’d be keeping Sloan around this year
We will most likely drop the ball on this one until it's done it isn't done unfortunately.Just wanted to give my input on Cobbo signing for the Dragons...
Personally I think it is a great move for your club, he has had a bad year, maybe even a little bit longer but he has also shown some absolute class over the years and has been a very good player also hence why he has played for Australia and Queensland.
I think he needs a good stern coach to get him firing again, could that be Flanagan? Who knows? There is definitely a couple of leaders in your backline that will be doing their best to ensure he gets back to form though and if he does the Dragons appear very dangerous from a backline perspective at least with Holmes, Gutho and Cobbo lining up.
If I was the decisionmaker for my club I'd want Cobbo, maybe I'm wrong but we shall see, I hope he comes good for you all.
Might be why we allowed Latu to go earlyWe have a spot in the 30 w latu moved on. I’d be keeping Sloan around this year
Probably right- could however be exchanging a peach for a lemon.Might be why we allowed Latu to go early
Sexton won’t have Preston , critter or kiraz outside him plus Mann and Heywood giving him ball.We need a half back what's wrong with sexton ? the dogs want to move him on he has to be better than we have now. I really don't understand what this club is doing. we could have king Togia, sexton and move Flanagan to lock.
McGuire is the definition of stern. I've seen nothing from flano that would improve cobbo as a player.Just wanted to give my input on Cobbo signing for the Dragons...

The club are waiting for something to happen at Brisbane ffs just go in with an offer sit & wait approach will blow up in our face now that the Cowboys are prepping an offer as of the latest report about 20 mins ago.Very promising news so far.
The club has made an approach which has the best outcome for both parties. The broncs don't want him, the cows only want him for this year and allows Cobbo to "settle in".
He walks into a winger position, cover for fullback and centre. Wendle did a great job and can't see why he would be any different.
If he feels it's important to return home, let him go home. Can't see that would be an issue with the club.
X2 .........I'd rather release Ravalawa before Sloan.
