The Club doesn't get to keep the money they don't spend in the salary cap, you know that right? They can in effect pre-pay wages against this years cap for next year which is what i presume they're doing.
Amongst other things, this is what the Dogs did in the first couple of years under Gould, hence their warchest.
So they have to spend it? Because if you don’t spend it then it’s a cost avoidance yes? Unless you have to then front load it. well they best be making some signings for next year.
still cannot believe we signed no one with all of our injuries
JDB replacement who is that Garner? His stats are not as good as Jacks.
I don’t feel confident in Haran at all sorry.

Given how often players speak out about the abuse they receive on social media, I reckon seeing people like you supporting that abuse would make a lot of them not want to sign for the club. Why would any player want to play for a team where a significant portion of the supporters will happily cheer someone publicly abusing you?
Well said
Schiller would be very gun shy already then along comes JCB with his big gob

I posted months ago that Jonah Glover looked a very fast halfback, threw sharp accurate passes and I’d love to see him given an NRL shot. Other posters didn’t think he was much chop and pointed to Reed as the future.

Souths have signed Glover ( Bennent would have agreed) and Kyle stays as our half OK.

I love having a fast halfback but I suppose the proof of the pudding is in the eating as the saying goes.

everything but a long kicking game for Glover which we need

the only part of his game omitted by Souths when describing his good qualities in their press release

Bulldogs got rid of Glover also

The bulldogs won’t let Woods go. They will probably move Burton to the centres to accommodate Woods.

More importantly, going after Woods may do more harm than good at SGI. Reed imo is an even better prospect than Woods (he is a very accurate goal kicker as well) and I wouldn't want Reed thinking the Dragons have another young gun in mind as their long-term half ( ie beyond 2027).

I want everyones take on this. Obviously with JDB leaving the club, do you think its a personal thing? I know I know there are great young guns coming in, I completely understand, but considering we are getting rid of a 1 club player for 14+ years at the club, do you guys thinks its Haran or Shane flanagan thats behind him actually leaving? Like I know we want to re-sign our young guns but we have loads of space in our cap, and we could surely offer him a 1 year deal on 200-300k, he's clearly hurt, so why? is it personal? is that what we think the problem is? That ben Haran or Shane just doesnt like him? because there is no way we cant re-sign him for next year?

I've always ratedd Glover but prefer Reed. I think now would be Glover's time at the Dragons but the selectors don't agree. In effect Souths have exchanged Ilias for Glover.

I don’t know - but I strongly suspect it’s one or more board members that have demanded Jack’s departure. I doubt very much that Flano has pushed for it.

They don't want him to surpassing Ben Hornby's most games for the joint venture
I"ve heard that reason given by others on this forum but don't really get it. Hornby has thrown his lot in with Souths as Brett Morris, another premiership player from the 2010 side, has with the Roosters. People make choices and Hornby has chosen another Sydney NRL club as his future. If Hornby had remained at the Dragons in some capacity I would understand the loyalty pull, but he's moved on.

Similar to Dean Young, the plan was always for Young and Hornby to return. Young has, I dare say Ben Hornby will too.

Unfortunately we just don’t know what occurred behind closed doors JDB fan , however I do agree that another year would had been deserved .

In saying that we also need to consider whether or not Jack remaining would had prevented one of the younger players being graded ?

Nevertheless , I am sure , as many fans wish him the best for the future - even if it is with those slippery eels .
