No self respecting, fully fit, quality forward is going to come to our club to play behind Kyle Flanagan as a 6 or 7.

Our young forwards will more than likely be fatigued and/or injured by 2/3rds of the way through the season.

If you think Hook & Mc Fookknuckle set us back it will be nothing compared to what is coming our way whilst this f**king farcical protection of KF remains in place.

Hard slog out of our own end and slow and predictable ball that will get you hammered before the ad line is coming their way.
Reed will eventually replace Kyle at 7 in 2026.
CT and another yet to be recurited big strong winger will get out ot our red zone.
Leilua will be one of our run-on props with instructions to go flat out in defence and attack before being replaced by T Couchman.

I think we will do better in 2026 - at least make the 8.

Sorry buddy KF will be either the 6 or the 7 and only a personal injury (in no way am I wishing that upon him) will prevent it.

CT will be injured more than he plays due to dodgy as shit hamstrings.

Leilua will be on the edge and young one's sacrificed to the middle due to not getting what we need in respect of recruitment.

I was exited, until you bought me back down to earth!

No doubt we have made some changes that are for the greater good but at my age there aren't all that many years left to wait it out so I just call it like I see it.

I hope that I am wrong but experience tells me that this is just more of the same old bullshit that the club trots out year after year.

I look at us and then look at Parramatta and sigh.

If Cook is injured, Kyle will go to 14 and Reed to halfback.
Leilua has lost his magic as an edge player, time to do some hard yards in the middle.
While we are at it, Suli needs to set up his winger or move to edge forward. He dies with the ball more often than he should.

Tigers have signed Patrick Herbert. He has not played NRL since he left the Titans in 2023. Not Dragons related but he was a Dragons junior.

Much as I like the bloke Ryles hasn’t achieved anything at all yet and I still see Parramatta as the same basket case they have been for a while. They’ve shifted some players out, shifted some players in, and missed the 8. They’ll miss the 8 again this year.

He's achieved damn sight more in 1 year than our windbag of a coach has in two.

Ok well let’s see how he goes in his second season my bet is he goes backwards but maybe not. Flanagan got us to 11th and 2 points off the 8 in his first season and Ryles got them to 11th and 6 points off the 8 in his first season. He’s a very well regarded assistant coach but at this stage of the proceedings has done nothing of note as a head coach. But time will tell for both clubs.

Parra finished in front of us in almost every department.

2 more wins, more points for, less points against, finished 4-1 to our 1-4.

Offloaded veterans for youth and if not for Moses being injured would have finished closer to the 8 if not in the 8.

Meanwhile we loaded up with veterans, discarded youth and picked KF in every game.

Ryles showing what a real coach does with malcontents by showing them the door while we pussyfoot around with them.

Chalk and cheese.

Semantics really as both teams are underperforming but Flanagan picked up 2 more points than Ryles did when you compare their first seasons. And I would guess we blooded more young players than any other nrl club last year that doesn’t count as promoting youth? No one disagrees we’re still in a sh.tfight but I won’t accept Parra are much better than us.
