It's not like he wasn't given a chance.
He was poor in first grade and for the most part, a non commodity in nswcup, with only the occasional good game.
The narrative trying to be spun that he is the reason that side went so well is ridiculous.
If anyone deserved to be brought up, it was Glover, not Ilias.

If he goes well at Titans, maybe that's because they have a better side than us... But chances are, he will be back in reserve grade anyway.

Well he'd better get started "smashing it" then because so far two coaches in a row have dropped him to reserve grade - something Lachlan & Bwaiff seem quite forgetful about......
And barring a Titans injury crisis in their halves he'll start 2026 in reggies too. Honestly it will be objectively harder for Lachlan to get into first grade at the Titans than it was for him at the Dragons as they actually have two quality halves.

I watched Ilias in quite a few games this year and he was hopeless for most of it. Glover outplayed him and did a lot of the kicking. Im disappointed Glover didnt get given a chance at least but for Ilias to complain is ridiculous. He doesnt mention the grand final where he basically lost it for us when he got sinbinned for a really stupid off the ball tackle. The only part of him that works well is his mouth i think. This year will show his lack of talent shine

Really hope the tits plan to start Ilias in their halves at the start of the season.. we play them in round 4, probably too early in the season for Hannay to drop him, and that means an infinitely easier game against the titans for us if he lines up in the halves for them. All this talk about being hard done by.. he'll be playing reserve grade at the gold coast soon enough. Terrible player.

Agree. This smacks of sour grapes which is never a good look. The NRL is a small world. Even if you move clubs you will come into contact with players or coaches who know each other well and know players and coaches at your previous clubs personally. He has basically said he was good enough to be picked but for some reason he wasn't so he has questioned either Flanagan's integrity or his coaching ability to judge players performances. That will follow him around now. Just a dumb thing to do publically for the sake of a stupid podcast. Thick as sh.t some of these guys.

And for the few people on this forum who seem to need to attach any kind of weight to what this muppet has said you really need to think hard about whether your own judgement has been clouded by your anti-Flanagan agenda. Clearly the club has backed Flanagan as coach for next year so let's just get on with it and see how he goes. Some fans rate him, some fans do not rate him which is fine. But the constant anti-Flanagan agenda from some commentators on here is just so f.cking boring it's not funny. If you don't like him I get it, that's fine, just don't feel the need to bore the f.ck out of everybody every 5 minutes with the same moaning dribble which just makes you sound like you're 5 years old.

Ilias is not a great player. KF is about the same, may be a touch better, but when Val was injured, we needed a goal kicker & from that point on Ilias was not coming into the team.
He can carry on that he wasn't given a chance, but the team needed a goal kicker & LKT was a better player than Ilias as well.

The fact he’s not an NRL player and what he said about Flanno are not mutually exclusive.

Even if it is sour grapes, I believe what’s he’s saying about Flanno and his…………shortfalls, is accurate.

A 'utility' who has done nothing but play halves since he got here. There have been ample opportunities to sign quality 7s since he joined us as a utility.

Funny how quickly things change their were some deluded posters on here saying Illias was an upgrade on Ben Hunt I remember belly laughing then I still find it amusing the reality is he was a dud at Souths he was unsurprisingly a dud for us and he will be a dud for the Titans. He might be solid in the Super League.
