When Glover becomes the rabbits first choice number 7 and the rabbits are in the top 8 who in the dragons coaching/recruitment team will lose their job?
By that logic the Souths recruitment team should lose their jobs too right? For signing two saints halves in Sullivan and Ward who couldnt make the starting side over Glover?

Weird logic and also almost no chance of happening.

Glover is like 4th in line to even get a start lol

How many on here have seen Reed play....from memory he has played 1 KOE cup match and the rest in Flegg and Ball. We don't have much to go and yet many pushing for first grade already...he may prove to be a winner but let him prove himself in KOE for at least half a season..
I seem to recall he ran on in the Charity Shield and looked right at home. Admittedly against South's 2's.

Very Unlikely.... Why not use the same hypothesis for Ilias.... If he becomes the Titans no 7....etc....

But Watsford has somehow left Haran there?
You do realise these employees are covered by the same general protections as every other employee in other industries? Haran may be a permanent employee or have a term left on his contract. It is very unlikely that he can be unilaterally terminated.

These restructure processes take a lot of time in any sector.

Illias probably did not get the feedback or respect from Flanno because it seems he went to Braif first for feedback and Braif decided to start the nepo talk on NRL360 which would surely anger the coach. When player managers decide to take matters into their own hands I am sure it would pi$$ off the coach. Also probably why Saints never went in for Pezet because of his manager.

Flanno is bringing guys in who respect the club and not ones that like airing their dirty laundry in the public i.e Hunt, Lomax, Molo and Illias. He is working on building a good culture at the club.

It is probably why the recruitment drive may be sluggish as well as they may have trust issues based on these players who love using the press to push agendas. Less chance of that happening with juniors giving them a crack. They will hopefully stay loyal for being given a good crack unless they are named Galvin.

I was surprised Saints did not go for Arthurs or Shibasaki to be honest. As soon as I heard they were interested in an outside back I thought they would be top of the list. And they would have come at a reasonable price. Bronco's have Anderson from the Storm so they would be itching to move to another club.

I would have been happy if Saints were able to bring in Sandon Smith and Shibasaki but it was not to be. Damn.

I've watched Reed for a couple of seasons across SG/Flegg/Cup, hes an immense talent and seems to get better with better players around him.. for example, he has a real connection with Heidke when they play together... but.. hes just a kid learning stuff still.. definitely Flegg look a lot better with him in the side, but they still had a poor season.. and the 1 token game in cup was also a loss.. its such a clear difference between him and Glover who is maybe 3yrs older and had 2yrs cup experience against men.. very different.

Dont think that Reed is some sort of prodigy though.. hes not the next Nathan Cleary or Sam Walker.. hes just got potential to be a first grade 7 in time.. the closest match is a Mitch Moses, but Mitch probably had the better running game.. kicking game im not sure but I really like Reeds, thats his strength... I hope it can grow into something like Mitches.

But its very hard for fans to remain patient.. literally 2 more years before he gets to Glovers level of rookie experience.. 2 more years... 2028... and hes a rookie 7... he will play first grade before then.. but patience.. we need another first grade 7 before Reed will be ready to take over... even then Reed might play 6 for a while.
That's what we've all been saying all along.

It's the root cause of the frustration in here, our inability to do anything about it this far.

I'm not saying that we're not trying but there has been no success from many apparent attempts..

I think he can be restructured into a different role for the time being.... same pay... and maybe its coming at some point in 2026, tbf there is a lot of change already coming in, so a couple of guys who know where things go is helpful....

There are many element of Harans role im sure he could keep doing.. organisation and administration type stuff.. but the actual title of GM is something for serious cats.. guys like Gus and Ponissi.. I mean not many GMs are actually household names, but I do feel like we are still 1 gun down versus the other clubs.. another guy who could help us grow our network... and perhaps help us land an extra player or 2... not sure if Ando on his own can realistically maintain the hundreds of relations/networks out there... and in our situation.. we need a very wide web cast.

Harran has been at the club for something like 6-7 years !any company that allows underperforming employees (especially senior highly paid employees) to remain in critical roles for that long would end up failing.
In business senior employees like General managers have KPI's that must be met and these performance criteria are written into their contracts so that when they fail it is no surprise that they are terminated.
As General manager of football it is amazing that he has kept his job whilst 2 First grade coaches and numerous support staff have been terminated during his tenure.

All I know is the NSW cup side finished much higher up the ladder than the NRL side. Not bad for a team that had rubbish halves, a fullback that apparently will never play FG again and a winger who was stuffed around and decided to leave and join the other winger in Canberra whom we also thought was not first grade standard.
The people at the Dragons who are in charge of player development and who decide who is a keeper and who is not are not up to the task and should be replaced.

So we let go of good players (Bostock and Glover) and keep some players who are never going to reach N:RL standard (Sloan and Flanagan).

In addition, we fail to promote our reserve grade coach to one of our assistant coaches and instead keep Dean Young, a coach who has never shown success at any level.

Draagon's management is playing favourites and because of this, the club will find it very difficult to succeed.

Edit Haran has been with the dragons in senior Football roles for 10 years!
