I am sure with Anderson in charge of recruitment now, things would be done differently.
That said, I think it will have to be a really attractive package offer to get KK to leave Souths.
4/5 years at $1M plus per season might get it done.

What happened to the end of season review Dean Young should have been moved on 2 years assistant and the team didn't improve from last season.

Much as I wish we were in a position of strength to do this I don’t think we are. There’s not too many top forwards out there and if he calls our bluff we’re done. No doubt his agent will be telling him to take his time and listen to all the offers before making his decision which is the right advice for a guy in his position. We start throwing our weight around it could piss him and his team off and he’s gone.

Better to tell him we’ve identified 2 or 3 players who could take us forward and he’s one of them and we’d love to have him, and it’s a very good offer, but if one of the other guys says yes then it’s off the table.

With all due respect, why do you it yourself ? If supporting the club creates so much angst for people whats the point ?

Things are changing under Watsford.... It will not happen overnight but if we can keep the majority of the young guys on the field in 2026 , then good days ahead.

eg H Stewart ..Penrith, Brisbane, Sharks, souths all wanted to sign him.

Absolutely right GS- patience is what is needed-fortunately (or unfortunately- depending on which side of the bargaining table you are) this is a sellers' market. The limited number of quality players left have a myriad of complicated options including the two new teams so those demanding a get-tough approach- 48 hours to consider our offer or its off the table-will lose out. The fact that we chartered a helicopter for a player to tour our facilities tells me that we are in new territory in the negotiating stakes.
