After two rounds we have some of the more "fancied" teams being written off, others who weren't on our radar in the pre-season being heralded as potential Premiership winners ...

MEMO: IT'S TWO GAMES IN TO THE SEASON

Didn't Souths win their first three last season too?

To answer the question: no, the Sharks won't win the 2008 NRL Premiership.

I am on for a stack so I hope so.

They have to be rated a strong chance but the football they are producing at the moment is not going to be enough come finals time.

I see a lot of promise and improvement in the side. Stuart looks to have the boys fired up and some great attacking flare has come out of nowhere. It will be no surprise to me to see them firing at the business end of the season.

If they can run in the top 2 I will be very confident.

If the Sharks have "great attacking flare" then the Knights are the Harlem Globetrotters

Kimmorley is not the player he once use to be. If the Sharks to be a threat, it will on the back of Gallen and Bird. Williams injury isn't going to help them any

Well we have pretty much smashed both grand finalists and shown we are a class above.

We quite possibly have one of the best forwards packs, not in just this years competition, but in the last 10 years. The attacking prowess, and sheer razzle dazzle of our backline means we can score from anywher eon the field, at any time of the game.

The way the finals works, it doesnt always mean the best teams are in the grand final (EG- When the Sharks missed out in 99) , but somewhere down the line, whether its the last week in September or the first week in October, everyone knows we will be there or there abouts.

 What a load of sh*t! A class above? Cronulla struggles to hold the ball, still struggle to score points, and seem to have won by dragging the opposition down to their level. I'll admit your defence has been impressive so far though. I think it was Andrew Moore yesterday who said before the game Melbourne would need 18 points to beat the Sharks, I reckon he's spot on, for any side.

Well we've started off winning the close games so thats a good thing, Sharks are going to destroy some sides this year...

Talk about winning the comp at finals time, or after the heart attack.

3 tries in 11 minutes against the storm was pretty good.

The sharks are trying new things and it will take a while for them to learn them but so far they have looked decent with the ball at times. When they start going flat thats when you have to worry..

Hopefully Karl can get a debut out of Williams injury and out some strike on the edges

Smashed?

You won by 6 and then by 1?

May i remind you that the KNIGHTS beat Manly aswell, the KNIGHTS!!

I wouldnt get to excited.

The best teams do make the finals and Cronulla choked in 1999, i can remember it pretty clearly. (Before you bring up the Eels, yes i realised they have choked before.)

Two games, two away wins. Against the Premiers and the Grand Finalists.

Manly won't make the 8

Letting Monaghan go was the dumbest thing any club did in the last 13 years.

I'd love to see the Sharkies win it. Always had a soft spot for them and it'd be nice to see yet another different winner. In saying that, it's f**king round 2. I'll judge them 20 weeks in.

I don't think you people watched the Storm game close enough.

Whenever they played expansive football they looked dangerous.

Sure they started to make errors and then reverted back to the usual grind fest but I can see the spark that lies within.

They lost alot of close games last season so to see them win these in a slugfest is a good sign for the team.

Kearney, Gallen, Bird are all great ball players and add a lot more spark to the team that just relying on the pivots.

I am under no illusion that Kimmorely is a great creative halfback but he is a good organizer and does have a good kick chase.

Given the options around him I don't think he needs to be for the Sharks to be effective either.

Yes I stand by my comment that the Sharks posses attacking flair and be prepared to witness it as the season progresses, it's only going to get more prevalent.

I dont see why the Sharks cant win it..

I said before the Storm game that I though Sharks are under-rated and they are a top 4 side.

I think theve got a good make up of a team and a good coach..

Your ignorance is laughable

Your little team hasnt impressed me at all yet, Friday night will be your true test.

Manly have not played half as good as last year in their opening two games and i think most teams baring maybe Raiders/Panthers would have dusted them up.

Sharks win agaisnt the Storm was good however.
