Surely, it is more then doing a bit extra with the HM and SG ball squads and age development teams (have been in existence for yonks). Anyone up to explaining the exact details

Yeah I've actually got a signed copy of that book. It's crazy the stuff he got up to but it didn't prevent him from being one of the greatest players of all time.

i've only heard snippets myself but as far as i know the aim of the academy is to take talented juniors with potential and put them on a specialized training regime designed to develop them so its not such a big step up for them when they do play first grade

I think there were quite a few comments at the time about the conflict of interest. I know my opinion is the same as always - sponsors should keep their nose out of operational issues. Sure they might want to know the stategic plan before they come on board (particularly the major sponsors) but in those cases thry should be signing confidentiality agreements. Pretty simple really.

All these actions make it pretty clear that unprofessional behaviour at board level is tolerated. Makes you wonder what came first - the board position or the offer of sponsorship.

It's quite clear we need a change of governance.
