So you seriously believe that Ben Smith, Fui Fui Moi Moi, Nathan Hindmarsh, Jarryd Hayne and Luke Burt are at the core of a player revolt - or, at the very least, a culture that is 'soft' and 'doesn`t try'? Do you actually watch the games? Have you ever seen a player who tries harder than Hindmarsh, Smith, Moi Moi or Hayne? These guys and Tim Mannah carry this f**king side, mate. And these players have also banded together to get rid of Hagan and Anderson and now Kearny?
f**k. It doesn`t even deserve a comment.

I don't watch the games mate, I just get my opinions from LU and from talking to my mate Dave at work.

I agree, some times I wish I was Gen X so I don't get associated with merkins in Gen Y.

#GenYSucks

Don't worry about it.

When I was a young bloke Gen X were the f**kwits. Then we grew up and became adults.

Gen Y will be fine. All this 'Gen' shit stops when you become a proper grownup, though it does appear that each new generation takes longer and longer to reach adulthood.

Maybe voting age should rise in line with the maturity of the population?

THE chief executive of Pirtek, the company which injects $1 million a year into the Eels as major sponsor, insists the club's board retain under-siege coach Steve Kearney and re-sign him until the end of 2015. Former Eels director Glenn Duncan said Parramatta's board had agreed to a five-year plan with Kearney to change the club's culture and the coach should be allowed to oversee the long-term changes.
And Duncan wants Kearney's contract extended beyond this year for two more seasons. After a 0-4 start to the year, some Eels fans are calling for the board to sack Kearney immediately. But it won't happen.
Pirtek's deal also ends at the end of 2013, but the company has a three-year option. Duncan is aware it could get "ugly" at Parramatta but is standing by Kearney.
Asked for his reaction should the Eels board dump Kearney, Duncan said: "We would then have to discuss that with the Parramatta board."

Pressed on whether Pirtek would be angry, Duncan said: "I would be disappointed if Steve wasn't given that opportunity to finish our five-year plan."
The club's administration, board and Kearney agreed to the long-term plan 18 months ago.
It involved a player clean-out, change of culture, increased junior development and the establishment of a youth academy.

Duncan fails to acknowledge the recruitment for 2013 were all external players ie Tonga Brothers, Sandow, Roberts. What happened to the junior development and internal structures? Why did we not look at buying back the farm with players like T Rex?

Publically produce the 5 year plan and see if any milestones have been met in the first 18 months! Do we need to wait 5 years to expire?

5 years is too far away, I not expecting to win the competition in 3 years but we need to see a steady improvement in playing strength, ladder position, development of younger players and structure. (not apparent at this early stage of 2012)

At this point I have not totally given up on the Coach but time is running out.

Fact is in 18 months we have not gone forward, zero from 4 matches is not acceptable in the NRL!

It will be extremely difficult to attract the players required to strengthen the squad if the team keeps on losing!

Where do we go if we are 0 or 2 wins from 10 matches???

I am sure Duncan would not tolerate his sales team at pirtek having zero sales after 2-3 months of trading.

Oh I doubt it too, but I don't think we'll be 0 wins either. Just not sure that it's healthy to only be predicting the worst.
its only predicting a continuation of whats currently happening i hope we will get a few wins in the coming weeks too but i did that for the 2nd half of last year without any joy

I realise that, but these things can be self-fulfilling to a degree. If every Parra fan believes we will never win another game then our crowds will end up filling a shoebox, media pressure on the side will have much more fuel, and the club will suffer a lot more than if we temper our negativity. It's very easy to boo the team as they run off after a shit performance, but is it good for the club or making things worse?

It would be very hard not to accept a clean out and as was mentioned on here before this year will be highly emotional for a lot of people involved

couldn't have a clean out any earlier without paying out contracts etc, what else could they do? wait til contracts run out and don't offer a new one thats about the only way to deal with it.

And people will get over it and move on 6mths after it happens. No one will remember it in a few years if we are winning games and in the finals.

Plenty of teams have gone through a four game losing streak, especially with their star player out.

The record is a lot worse than four in a row. The Broncos lost eight or nine in a row a few years ago and Newcastle lost 13 straight when Johns was injured in 2005.
