:lol: Always look on the bright side of life. Life's too short to be taken seriously. That's why we are wallowing here in the Swamp.
Now, enjoy tonights game, even though you are a Roosters win away from wooden spoon. Actually there is no difference between finishing second or last...and apart from the actual night - or the day on the piss the day after, does anyone really care who wins the premiership.
There is no longer any loyalty, no pride in raising your juniors, no passion left in the game when you see hugs, kisses, laughing, loveins between the players as soon as the full time siren goes.
I preferred the years when teams like StGeorge, South, Parramatta dominated. Wins against opponents then were worth more. Players stayed loyal..dynasties were built. That can't happen these days because Clubs that promote the gooduns leave them exposed to predator Clubs like Manly and the Roosters..
Frankly it gives me the sh*ts - and no doubt it gives supporters of every Club - the sh*ts.
I hate it when a bloke like Feliti Mateo gets offered $300K a season on the strength of a nine match career.
What does the man on the Street think of that. What does a St George supporter think when Danny Hicks comes up through the ranks, is ready to start producing and gets a quid from Newcastle.
No wonder supporters get the sh*ts with each other.
Rugby League is still a game to me. I enjoy it, and take it for what its worth.
I prefer to see Matt King get the sh*ts and walk off disappointed than to see blokes kissing and hugging after 80 minutes of 'combat'..Don't you.
