Seems a pretty good result to me. We got basically 95% of the $$ that AFL did.
Does not include:
- NZ Rights
- Internet/Mobile Rights
- Competition Naming Rights
$1.2 could be the final value. with $1.1 cash...

for less money yes.for lees money
After today, i have no faith in this commission investing into grass roots footy. They got their pay day, they are patting themselves over the back that we have to stay in this shitty situation, while idiots think they will reinvest back into the game.A shitload of more money invested into grassfooty will do more for rugby league than anything hd or live games could dream of. If you were a true rugby league fan instead of sounding like a selfish and whinging television viewer, you would be celebrating the massive future rugby league has ahead of it. I know I am
I dont care about money. The money wont go to where the average person wants it anyways. But i would have accepted around 850.And how much would you like 10 to pay over the next 5 years to provide this?
Does this include the stories that A Current Affair show every couple of months that seem to revel in kicking rugby league in the gonads? The Contra part of the deal is what appeals to the casual fan.
How many of you have watched 7mate and been bombarded by GWs and swans adds. The same will happen with channel 9 there will more information about match days and who is playing.
This will inturn grow audiences and awareness of games, both live at the ground and on television.
"Hi Ronnie Dobbs. Don't forget to read my column Buzzwords tomorrow mate. Oh, and my face is red as an inflammed haemorrhoid. This is what I'll look like in 10 years time":
Well he looks to have a lupus rash and also has Costanza as his avatar. Just saying.
I'm looking forward to another 5 years on the Broncos every night, and Cronulla getting screwed over in terms of FTA coverage.
As a Storm fan - I am not sure the problem with the deal that others are complaining about. It is my understanding that Grant said that as part of the deal is national coverage (obviously flexing to Gem). The centrality of the 'main station' will quickly decline as people get used of the broader options.

Not having to endure Cronulla on FTA. There is an upside after all.

Nine's commentary and general coverage has been so dreadful this year that I honestly thought it was out of spite at the realisation that they had lost the rights.
Now we find out we have another FIVE YEARS of it.
i wouldnt be shocked if some of you would be happy if the deal was worth 2 billion but the only place you could see the game on TV was from Gyngellls house.
