Tell me why would News Ltd have an anti-RL bias?

Don't they own the game?

I have never taken much interest in what happens off the field...so fill me in.

Nice try, alfie...

No, the journalists do it off their own bat because of their personal biases. This is reinforced by the biases of the persons employing them. As you can see, the list I compiled contains both writers and editors.

Or would you like to point out which of the ones I nominated are not pro-union or anti-RL?

Any reason why you keep avoiding this, Thomas? ;-)

It is lazy and poor journalism is what it is...

It sure is.

Its also very easy journalism and it works.

Its the reason that A Current Affair and Today Tonight pull in millions of viewers each week...despite most intelligent people realising what it actually is.

Read post #34 again, slowly this time.

And consider whether News Ltd consider their main business to be news or rugby league?

Right.

So we are in agreement then.

News Ltd want to sell papers.

The easiest way to sell papers is to write stories that will get people all emotional.

Its easy and poor journalism...and it works.

I'm not arguing against you, Calixte.

There are a plethora of poor journalists who, when pressured to pull out an article every week, will resort to the easy target (read: rugby league).

Its not hard to understand.

I realise that.

You only argue when I use the same skills used to dissect the newspapers to pull apart your rah rah colleagues (usually all sporting RL avatars ) on LU (of course as you were one of the first I understand why it still rankles)...
