The True Brotherhood at the Roosters

Harrison was not part of the long term plans. As much as I like the guy that is the simple fact.

You go on about Folau but you don't know what is happening behind the scenes. Fitzy and Nutley are retiring, Tupou will probably leave, Minichiello probably has one more injury before he retires, Roberts may leave, etc. Then of course Folau brothers are at the Roosters so you really don't know what the figure will be. So unless it actually eventuates without the release of other players I suggest you stop being so judgemental.

a WEEK BEFORE hARRISON NEGOTUIATED A RELEASE HE WAS QUOTED AS SAYING THAT HE WANTED TO PLAY OUT HIS CAREER WITH THE rOOSTERS. Sorry for the Caps

My point is that Harrison had no plans to go anywhere before Mason was in the Roosters greedy sights.

Harrison negotiated a release because he had no choice. Neither did the rest of them. They HAD to negotiate a release!!

How long before mason negotiates a release??? He will NOT live up to the expectations that the fans have of him. No way! He may have a few good games but within a few months he will turn into the lazy big oaf he is. O'Meley will give it his all, but injuries will be his achilles heal.

Mason will be off to England by June next year after a disappointing season in 07. I will bet my left nut.

AND concerning the salary Cap. Do you honestly think that the Roosters have room under the Cap to chase Israel Folau?? He is being offered deals around the $500,000 mark.

Do you honestly think that they can fit him under the cap???
IMO they definitely cannot. So, who do they tell to negotiate a release?

I still don't see how we are any different to any other club. The cap force these issues and I still think Craig Wing is carrying on like a 'sought'.
Get over your bias and you'll see it.

Goes to show you what the true attitude of the people who run this club is. Use up any good player until someone better comes along and then dump em. This type of attitude will eventually catch up with them though. No club dumps players on contract as well as the Roosters

Yep - certaianly was dumped - according to the article you posted he was offered a 2 year deal on more money that Souths offered. Man I wish I could get dumped by my employer that way.

I don't believe this statement - how stupid does he think people are. I think it was written by Peter or the Black Crowe:

t disappoints me when I read I'm this big signing for the Rabbitohs. I've taken a significant pay cut to come here. I'm on peanuts." yeah righto

Since when was $450k a season peanuts..

lol this dickhead is on a roll lately. wing's last couple of years - coincidence since fittler retired - didn't deserve a 4 year deal it would of been too much of a risk and commitment. a fresh start at another club in an environment he will have to prove himself all over again will probably be the spark he needs. at the roosters he was always going to just coast along, the club saw fit to offer him 2 years with an additional 2 after that but he wanted 4 so he could take his money and ease his way into a super league retirement

can you show me where fitzy ever whinged :? i'd love to read that one

how do you know who's offering folau what you drop kick?

mason is going to england next year because of a poor season 07? you don't even know what f**king year it is and nobody has backed you up on this thread. go sit in the corner with Abz and have a collective whinge about the roosters

they dumped lewis because he demanded this and that and he wasn't worth it. ndaira and soward were stupid mistakes imo. the williams boys weren't going to have a long term future and we have ample back up covering them. hegarty lol you brought up hegarty? you f**k wit a week before he signs with souths he states his intentions to resign with us

pfffft. craig wing is a baby. sorry but i lost all respect for him after he allowed himself to be paraded around in the welcome home press conference. then he came out and whinged how the roosters stifled his career by playing him at 9 while the season was still going.

Or was it his daddy who said the roosters stifled his career at 9?

the Roosters dumped Harrison as soon as they had Mason in their sights. Did'nt they dump Finch? They definitely dumped Josh Lewis. They also dumped Jamie Soward! They dumped Hegarty, Ndaira, the winger they sent off to the Bulldogs
Soward asked for a release because they wouldn't give him a chance in the 1st grade team.

They definetly did not dump Josh Lewis, he left for the same terms as Sowie did because Pearce was chosen at halfback and they wouldnt give him a crack at first grade. Both players commented this and its even laying around somewhere in cyberspace as the SMH had articles written up on it at the time.

Heggarty stated in Big League Magazine he was looking forward to signing a new deal with the Roosters that had been offered to him before signing with the Rabbitohs a week later.

Not sure what happened with Ndaira but before you go flapping your gums make sure your facts are straight because you will come off 2nd best and look like an idiot

If you want to push this issue further I'd be more than happy to do 10 minutes of googling to dig these articles up to make you look really stupid.

YESTERDAY was bittersweet for Jamie Soward, with the young playmaker securing a two-year contract with the Dragons before heading to Wagga Wagga for a friend's father's wake.

Soward was granted a release from the Roosters and could be a shock inclusion at five-eighth for St George Illawarra against Brisbane on Friday as the Dragons battle an injury crisis.

With regular five-eighth Dean Young expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks with a recurring knee injury, and fullback Ben Hornby - who has been a regular fill-in in the halves - also out for a month with a calf strain, Soward is in line to step straight into the famous Dragons No.6 jumper against the world's premier player, Darren Lockyer.

Unhappy with the limited game time he was receiving in first grade at Bondi, Soward asked for a release one month ago. After three weeks of negotiations with the Dragons, Soward put pen to paper yesterday.

Josh Lewis, who last week sought and gained a release from the Roosters to join Gold Coast, predicted in yesterday's Sun-Herald that Soward was likely to follow suit and his manager, Sam Ayoub, confirmed there had been interest from rival clubs - as well as the Waratahs.

"Jamie and I had a meeting with the Waratahs about two weeks ago and I have also met with another Sydney-based NRL club regarding Jamie," Ayoub told the Herald.

Let this be a lesson learnt Mr Smith, if you don't know what you're talking about then STFU

I love the quote too.

They were very weird to me," he recalled. "I tried to speak to a few of them but they were very stand-offish. A bit weird. I didn't know what was happening. It was awkward. I went to have a chat to 'Freddy' [Brad Fittler] and he said, 'G'day, I'll call you later'. He never did."

'Weird', 'Awkward', 'Stand-offish'. Gee Wingy, those Roosters sure showed you. Heartless bastards.

wow

all the folks are stating Wing deserved it to be snubbed after his mid season announcement. fair enough , why did they not snub him at that time and show him the door then. I could have respected that attitude. As far as i recall , he was one of the stars for the balance of last year .He gave his best to the end , including last game against Souths.

anyway , he is a professional , not sure about the Rooster crowd though. anyway all good for Souths as all those junior players who are NOT rooster juniors , well they can ignore any long term feel good statements from the roosters. All those wanting a paper bag know where to go , they just need to be sure to get it all in advance.

look forward to Roosters first game against Souths . Roosters have boosted their forwards however i think the problem is that they need a heart transplant, especially after losing argumentatively the player who had most heart. Wing!!!

Typical Easts all blow no go.

What is that supposed to even mean?

Wing is a f**kin ponce. 05 and 06 made it clear Fittler made him look good. 07, contract negotiations are up, well f**k surprise Wing shows some decent form. Parades himself around like a prat, with whinging in the papers before and after the incident, and now is bitching about why his snubbed former teammates and fans are giving him the cold shoulder. Harden the f**k up bitch, you'll need it come round 1. He's gonna cop the bagging of a lifetime from us on March 14, I hope he cries the bloody tampon.

oh and brian preacher smith has gotta be the most clueless prick on these forums judging by this effort. worse than the souths lot. At least they sometimes use facts

Adam. Are you saying that Wing only played well in 2007 because he was off contract?

Well tbh the fact that Ricky Stuart wasn't trying to play him at centre and Anasta's decent form and the fact that Finch was nowhere to be seen might have helped too. But I was in a ranting mood. He's been whining about something or other since 06, if not him then his Dad. Seriously who gets their dad to whinge to the Tele for them. FMD.

possibly if you want to buy a peanut farm - but we all know he didn't go to Souths for nothing as he paints. A two year contract was offerred to Wingy and I think that was fair enough - if he had performed then no doubt he would have been offerred anther extension. Souths and their brand new brown bags under the table?

Sucked in pal. You tried to start another one of those lets bash the Roosters threads and its blown up in your face. Wing is a major sook and a crap halfback.
