The two send offs in parra-souths...useless refs

Well it is a concern, both their wins have involved questionable reffereeing.

The Manly game was clearly on the one side, and this game favoured both sides but it went in favour of the Eels in more crucial stages than Souths.

The refs didn't cost Souths the game today - one team played well for about 20-25 minutes and that was enough for them to win the game.

However, this is the second Souths game this year that has been ruined by these wannabes mascarading as referees. I hate when the other team has a player binned because you now one of your blokes is going to go soon after. We've had 2 players binned this year when it shouldn't have even been a penalty.

Over to you Finch. I'm not holding my breath beacuse you are the cause.

The funny thing is that Cayless was sent to the bin when it was Mortimer that stripped the ball... and who scored the next try while Cayless was in the bin? Mortimer.

The referees are dead set ruining the game. Watching games isn't even fun if the Tigers are winning. Nah that's a lie, but still, if the players were playing on a damn honour system the game would be more accurately officiated than these stooges.

 you're not wrong

Sometimes I am not even sure what game I am watching any more. The games just descend into farce and that happened again today. Finch and the referees have no one to blame but themselves for what they are doing to this sport. It shouldn't be happening. Both of the binnings were a disgrace to our sport. The referees are a disgrace to the sport.

(Parramatta were the better team today and deserved the win so this post is not a dummy spit. Both teams had to put up with the same level of bullsh*t)

I can read the headlines tomorrow.

Finch: "Both incidents were within the KPI's and I stand behind the referees decision"

The sooner he leaves RL the better.

Edit:
I don't support either of these teams so couldn't care who win/loses but how the f**k did the refs not pick up the D.Mortimer take out of Merritt in the air that then led to his try the next set...???

We need to go back to one ref. That will halve the mistakes they make.

Mate, that's probably the best way to solve this debacle.

And of course, for Finch to be sacked.

I reckon Gould should be in charge of referees, it's the one subject he is constantly correct on.

It would keep him off TV and they'd be given a right serve every week.

It would be a win win for all of us.

Warren Smith campaigned for it on NRL on Fox, and what do you know, he got it. I was amazed how quickly they moved on a move off the back of a suggestion from a commentator. To me all it is doing is forcing referees who are clearly not up to it and should either be running the line or video refereeing to be the secondary referee. Ben Cummins is a joke, but his assistant is no better.

Some pisspoor refereeing today
- That sinbin for a strip
- the penalty, let alone a sin bin, for a legit tackle on Hayne (and the Inu Penalty not long afterwards was barely a penalty either)
Poor reffereeing ruined the game today (although it wasnt a great game anyway tbh).

Although there is no way we should go back to one ref. The standard of play has been a sh*tload better since we switched to a two referee system. Go back to one ref and we go back to the boring, messy rucks of the 06-08 time period where the quality of the game was pretty poor. Cleaning up of the rucks has been brilliant for rugby league

I think today's performance hit a new all time low, Finch should fall on his sword. They are just ruining Rugby League, Gallop has to grow a pair and sack the Merkin.

Just saw the two incidents - yes it was a joke in both cases. And IMHO Hayne dived. Clever in the situation as it drew the 'bin' call.

Gus Gould called it early and was spot on.

Yeah it was farcical in the end ... the send offs were ridiculous both of them. Also parra were lucky quite a few times - Burt obvious knocked on when sandow hit his arm but Burt just picked up the ball and ran off wtf ?And Parra was infront of the kicker all day , every kick and it was pulled up once .. and Hayne threw at least 1 deliberate fwd pass. That strip send off was out of fawtly towers , and the rabbitoh square up was just as bad . hopeless . Having said that i still think the 2 refs is a good idea, just need 2 decent refs not clowns.

I'm not sure the 2 refs has actually been the cause of the cleanup of the ruck. If they focused on cleaning up the ruck with 1 ref I believe we would have seen the same effect.

I'd be happy to see a return to 1 ref, going back to a simpler rules in regards to the ruck, obstruction, and losing the geniused KPIs that Funch has pulled out of his arse.

What gets me is I keep hearing calls from refs/touchies in the background like "markers not square" today, and theirs no penalty. They seem to be choosing when to give penalties and when to let it go. I think they need to go back to one ref and get the touchies to determine whether the defenders are onside and let the ref do everthing else. There would still be plenty of mistakes but this year has been terrible for refereeing and the two refs system doesn't seem to be working out.
