f**k me this show has some awful writers.

They spend the majority of the episode killing zombies in mostly hand to hand combat but then inside the prison they walk around a corner, bump into about four or five zombies and then run for the hills whilst shitting their pants.

Great premise, terrible execution. 1 and 1/2 Jerichos.

Yep.

And worried about ammo so the waste a heap shooting the relativeley few in the first yard whilst risking a life when they could have just stayed safe in the wire in stabbed them when they walked up.

Yeah I didn't get that. Rick tells them all to conserve ammo, but then they light up the place like it's hog heaven. But even while they're doing that they don't seem to be shooting at the zombies that are headed towards Rick and he has to fight them off himself!

The whole intro scene where the move into the house in silence, set up for ten seconds and then realise they have to bail? Then they're just stumbling through the woods and all of a sudden notice there's a prison?

I mean, Rick and Shane were cops, right?

This is going to be like Jericho, where you stick with it because you like the concept and you want it to be good, but deep down you know the writing is abysmal and the show sucks. I cannot help but laugh out loud every time I see the Foxtel ad that claims that The Walking Dead is the best thriller of all time.

Comics are very good. Not a big comic book guy (only series I read) but they are enjoyable.

They are following it a bit, but need to write better.

As to the Foxtel claim it is hugely popular in the US.

I never got around to watching the first two series while they were on here in NZ (aside from a couple of 15 minute snippets during channel surfing), then found out it was based on series of graphic novels, all of which I proceeded to hoe through from the library earlier this year.

Quite enjoyable to read, but get a bit weary of the general formula (Find new people YAY! F#$% new people YAY! Fight with new people BOO! Find 'perfect' spot YAY! Perfect spot gets overrun with zombies BOO! A main character gets NOMNOM'd by zombies BOO! Run off to find new place/people..... rinse & repeat).

The worst part is it now has ads! Wtf

And mush I agree, comics are great but the formula gets a bit old from time to time.

Do you even listen? Or just watch to complain?

There were many more than four or five zombies in the corridor and a dark enclosed area is much more dangerous than an open field. Duh.

They are shooting the ones near Rick, they are all near Rick. They don't get them all in time.

What's wrong with the intro scene? And yeah, in the comics the only difference is they are on a hill when they see the prison. Yeah they were cops, but they have been on the run for months and don't know where every damn prison is.

If you deep down know the show sucks then don't watch it. I don't watch Simpsons or family guy any more, nor do I bother to watch crappy teen shows or sex fueled gossipy shows because I hate them.

You're easily butt-hurt over criticism of your favourite show, fanboy.

Actually, there's five. Count em.

They are shooting the ones near Rick, they are all near Rick. They don't get them all in time.
There's a ring of zombies around Rick right after he closes the gate, and he's the only one shooting at them.

What's wrong with the intro scene?
It was stupid. The area was obviously crawling with zombies and they think they're just going to set up right in the middle of them?

And yeah, in the comics the only difference is they are on a hill when they see the prison. Yeah they were cops, but they have been on the run for months and don't know where every damn prison is.
Yeah I guess that would be expecting too much, just like expecting them to look in the barn of a known zombie hoarder for the missing girl that the old guy somehow forget he rounded up and put in there.

If you deep down know the show sucks then don't watch it.
I think I'll keep watching it and review it each week because I know it pisses you off :)

Season 1 was amazing, a couple of episodes into season 2 I stopped watching when it essentially turned into nothing but bottle episodes.

AMC dropped the ball on this one when they cut the budget and fired Darabont.

Yeah I started rewatching the season one episodes the other night. I forgot how good it used to be.

Can you at least wait to review it before the f**king episode has aired in Australia FFS ?

Or use the spoiler function

It still rates like a mofo but I agree it lost something when cutbacks were made

Well I thought it was a good start to the season after the long drawn out story arcs of season 2

However, WTF were they thinking just walking past bodies in the prison. In a world where dead people are coming back to life in all different states of decay, you'd think you'd take an axe/machete/pole to the head of any corpse you come near just to be sure. Hershel just steps over one and BAM! gets chomped for his lack of awareness.

Finally saw the new episode last night and I really enjoyed it.

I think the ciriticsm of the writing is a bit harsh. As someone else pointed out the difference between fighting walkers in the yard to the prison corridors. It was dark, confined, unfamiliar and confusing in the prison.

The part i find a bit far fetched is that there are survivors in the prison. I think they were prisoners as they had overalls on. How could they survive in there for that long? Obviously they had been in that room a whle as it was handcuffed shut.

I'm curious as to where the Michone and Andrea story line goes. Also intrgued why she has chained armless, teethless walkers carrying her stuff, not sure what else she keeps them for?

Pretty sure she keeps them around to mask her scent so she can walk amongst the walkers and not get noticed by them. Removing the jaw and arms stops them from attacking her

Yeah that makes sense.

I realise the removed arms and jaws stops them from attacking her. But what would stop them from still charging towards her. I mean how they are trained to just follow her and not try and attack? I guess it may be addressed in future episodes
