Agree, the writing has never been been great but it is just getting worse. I was so hoping Carl would end up as hamburger meat. Most of those scenes with him were just rubbish.

Nothing doing. Didn't care for Carl and his daddy issues at all. A waste of an episode really.

Expecting it to improve once the group gets back together and Abraham comes in, when they actually have something to do.

No he didn't. He thought Rick was dead when Rick woke up and started mumbling like a zombie. If he thought Rick was dead before he would have shot him.
Did you not hear him yell at Rick 'I saved you, I shot two walkers blah blah blah whiny daddy issues etc'? Why would he yell at him like that if he thought he was dead? Why would he try and save his dead father?
Use your brain FFS. A poor episode but use your brain before making stupid assumptions.

On the bright side perhaps no Rick next ep as they go to the others.

Yeah, I remember thinking at the time, surely he's going to check if Rick is still breathing, or to see if there's a pulse.

Then again, Carl isn't exactly the brightest kid around. I like how he attempts to barge a solid wooden door in before even checking the door handle to see if it is unlocked.

And there was the patient zombie who hides in the closet waiting for his opportunity to jump out at the right moment.

It only took a little bit of yelling at Rick for two zombies to knock on the door, but a street fight and a few gun shots later, as well as Carl busting his way into the house, and old mate is still too busy jerking off in the closet.
