Former News Ltd sports writer Ray Chesterton is suing radio station 2UE for defamation over comments referring to him as "Ankles". However, the most alarming development in the case came via an article on law-related website Justinian. "[Former Eels chief executive Denis] Fitzgerald had earlier named a number of people he said also regularly used the term in relation to Chesterton. These included News Limited journalists Phil Rothfield and Peter Frilingos (both deceased)." That would have been news to Rothfield, who was at work yesterday, seemingly alive.
