This Year?

The day the Tigers last won a final was the day of my league loving grandfathers funeral. 21-12 against the dragons with Benji running the show
Ah yes the Benji "dropkick", a Farah pisstake field goal, ending with Soward in some push and shove.
It would have been delicious for Tigers fans.

I remember watching that game with a bunch of mates who are all Tigers supporters.
The blowup about that Inu try was insane. The whole pub was about to riot, I reckon.

Also, how soft were all of those tries! The Mateo one was brilliant ball playing from Johnson, but all the rest were just diving over either from dummy-half or one pass off the ruck close to the line.

Bryce Gibbs getting injured early who was our best ruck defender really f**ked us that game. Todd Payten was also out which meant a first year Aaron Woods, Matt Groat and Mark Flanagan ended up playing big minutes, Warriors little guys tore us up through the ruck, Groat in particular missed some vital tackles.

Yeah. I didn't forget to mention that we choked.
We beat them 52-12 earlier in the season. Probably should have won the Final as well. Nope, did a Parrachoke.

I'm was just saying that the Cowboys were not exactly a great team, such as the ones the Eels have had to face in their recent grand finals. They finished 5th (14 wins, 10 losses) and had a points differential of only +76. The Tigers were lucky they got to face them instead a better team.

Parra and stom were our bogey teams that year and we did well to avoid both in the finals. However we came 4th and beat 5th, 3rd and 2nd to make the GF, then the team that beat 1st in the GF. Our finals differential was also the highest in history at that point. Parra with Brian Smith as coach were always likley to choke at some point in the finals, if it wasnt V the Cowboys would likley have been the following week.

No doubt.
I'm not denying the Tigers did an awesome job getting to that GF and then winning it. They put together some awesome footy in that Finals series, very entertaining stuff. I remember their defence was also very good through that period as well, which is not something the Tigers have ever been known for.

Up by 2 with a minute left and Farah/Benji put on a stupid play on the last inside our half rather than find touch in the warriors half. That moment keeps me up. Especially considering the Warriors knocked the Storm off the following week.

That said 2010 was the season we should have won it, 2011 we were definitely a long shot.

Robbie Farah is the Michael Clarke of Rugby League.

Can't get on with anyone. Thinks he is the most important in the room and his opinion is the only one that matters.

Benji better watch his back it's not like he and Robbie haven't had a falling out before.

When it comes to solving problems within the club I swear someone On the board just holds up a headshot of the 2005 squad and asks the rest of the board “is this anything?”

Then they hire them in whatever role is vacant.

Yep, lets look at an outlier 12 weeks of success that occured during 7 years of failure and base our clubs future off that
