The Wests Tigers are the 2023 wooden spooners

Literally everyone:

'Why dont the Tigers just copy the Panthers?'

Penrith admitted they lost $50m in the last 10 years setting their juniors up

The $1.4m debt was largely due to heavier spending in the South West, club gets bagged for it.
Spending the money in the south west but not committing to go there full time is where some of the criticism is coming from.

Dudded again by the draw.

Playing Teams that finished above them for the first 26 Rounds.

Only positive is minus any draws they will be back in familiar 9th after round 1.

Unfortunately I see the Tigers getting the spoon yet again next season. I like Aidan Sezer but he's 32 years old and was unwanted in the NRL back in 2019, he is the biggest signing that the Tigers have made in terms of established players.

Benji will embarrass himself as a coach, Brooks will probably string together his first great season at Manly and lead them to the finals whilst Tigers fans are left asking why he could never do that for them. Laurie and Ofahengaue are big losses as well.

Benji is on a hiding to nothing, sadly. If he fancies himself as a first grade coach.....Well he's allowed his emotional attachment to the Tigers to potentially kill his coaching career in the crib. Why the hell would ANY rookie coach, never mind one with so many question marks hanging over them like Benji, risk their neck on the Tigers right now? It is madness.

The Tigers need a seasoned, no bullshit coach with a stronger spine in his back and a fatter brain in his head than Maguire, who can stand over both the limp dicks in the Tigers board and the blowhards in the media and tell all of them to butt the f**k out of it.

There's only three names that come to mind currently that fit that bill and it's Bennett, Cleary and Bellamy. And they had their chance with Cleary and blew it out the airlock. Good luck landing the other two without bankrupting the footy club.

It really can't be overstated how catastrophic it has been for the Tigers to give this current board so much rope and for so long. They should have been out on their ass years ago when the Mick Potter experiment failed. Now the recovery is going to take twice as long, if it happens at all.

If a recent spoon winner can employ a bloke with a twenty year failed club career and make a grand final any club can.

Maybe with less choke on the big day though.

Agree with the points bar the last sentence. Laurie was horrible last year, went ok at 5/8 towards the end but is no loss at all. Joffas a decent first grader but we’re well covered in middle forwards.

The Tigers are a joke, but nowhere near as big as a joke as to how misinformed this post is.

We’re spoon favourites, how is Benji on a hiding to nothing? If he gets us to 2nd last then he’s done better then 2 premiership winning coaches.

How the hell did the Tigers blow it with Cleary?! If Nathan was born with a vag Ivan is likely still our coach.

The entire board structure has changed since Potter so that reference makes no sense whatsoever.

How can Tigers think its ok to charge fans more to go to games at LO and CT than the Eels are charging their fans for games at the luxurious Commbank?
Fair play to anyone who becomes a Tigers member this year!

They listen to Gus Gould when he says there’s nothing better than Sunday arvo footy at Leichhardt.
