ok obviously that hypotetical didn't work. I'll try this one. A full fit Nathan Hindmarsh rolls his ankle in the warm up.

I agree - I cant for the life of me understand why vaealiki was on the bench #-o

here is a man who is nursing busted ribs ... where was Brian expecting him to play ???????????

ANOTHER selection masterstroke from the coach whose defies logic.

Surely this selection is not the work of a panel ? The rest of the coaching staff must just sit there and scratch their heads in wonder #-o #-o

Its like McKinnon! Where the hell did he pluck that one from. McKinnon hasnt looked like playing first grade! What is going on there, surely putting Widders to Centre and Thorman in the halves was a better option than McKinnon at fullback and having Burt catch a cold in the Centres! Does anyone recall Burt actually having a run except from maybe dummy half???

I like the fact that all day we here that Thorman is on the bench with Muspratt or Muckart (still get those two mixed up), replacing Prince and O'Dwyer, and then Smith pulls a rabbit out of his hat and plays Mackinnon.
That must really get the Sharks shaking in their boots with shock, horror and surprise.

Broken record Smithy.

It was such a waste having burt in the centres, he's been great at fullback this year yet Brian decides he has to change it!!

McKinnon even though he did nothing wrong he provided us with really no more then what Robert Muchmore could have done.

McKinnon played a decent game tonight, however it did see Burty have one of his quieter nights.

An injury in the warm up, although unlikely is still a concern. I remember in 2002 the Cowboys had one of their players injured in the warm up but didn't bring an 18th man to Sydney. They ended up having to play with 16 players and lost the game by 50 points.

When Burt dropped that ball late in the second half he looked to have an expression of "What Am I Doing Here!!"

Apparently Prince is now out for the season I heard on 2GB? What is the story here? Did he get further injured at training or did Smith just name a player that had zero chance of playing???

So?? Your point is?

I remember that as well.
I'd like to think we are a tad more professional than that and wouldn't be concerned about the cost of 1 plane fare.
But I'm still lost on your point.

He must have got injured at training. Smith wouldn't have named a player that was out for the season. Would he?

"18th man? What a crock of sh*t! is Smith kidding"

That was the quote that began that thread and I was simply defending the purpose of an 18th man.

Fair enough.
But that wasn't my quote.
