This isn't news.
its great to see ANZ stadium doing this but slashing prices one part of the business only means ithat they have to increase prices in other parts.
All of the teams except Parra were terrible last year. Hopefully with some semblance of attacking football they will show up.
Agreed. Better attack equals bigger crowds and TV. Its like, are you going to go see a Tarantino movie or a Woody Allen talk fest movie.
It's not supposed to be a news bulletin.. That's whats been going on and needs to be discussed and solved. It cost the recent rugby league world cup some full houses, especially the final!
Well yeah, but what if it gets a little cloudy? With prices like that, there really isn’t any excuse now for Sydney fans.
? I enjoyed the footy last season. It just wasnt priced well. Too expensive. World cup footy was even better!
No doubt you enjoyed it. The hard core fans love the "game play style" no matter what. Thats the same for all sports.
However, the way you grow the game and get bigger crowds is make the game more appealing to the less hard core fans, casual fans and the punter who is still looking for a sport to get keen about.
Basically you want the guy who might watch a bit of footy on TV on friday to be excited enough to pick a team, get off the couch and take his kids to a game. You aren't going to get that with wrestle, completion, structure type game play. The casual sports fan not yet too fussed about RL always makes the same negative comments. "Too many hit ups and dummy half runs and general boring attack".
Don't think the game play style was that prominent? Im sure their was a trend starting for late support passing and extravagant play. That's what I noticed. It was an entertaining brand of footy in an.overpriced ticketing scenario.
There was a good style starting up in 2016 with Canberra and Penrith but both have gone back to disciplined/getting to the kick/field position/pressure styles of play because they conceded that under the current rules that is the way you win RL.

Fans of the four NRL clubs who play home games at ANZ Stadium will have access to $20 tickets, cheaper food and free travel in a move aimed at making attending matches more affordable for families.
In addition, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers members will have free admission to all away matches in which their team is playing at ANZ Stadium.
Under the joint initiative by the four clubs and ANZ Stadium, fans will be able to attend matches for $20 and children under 12 years of age will have free entry, while $40 family passes will also be offered for the 33 regular season matches involving the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Eels and Tigers.
Every ticket includes free return travel to Olympic Park, with two direct trains running to and from each game.
Food and drink prices will also be dropped, with burger meals available for under $10.
The initiatives, which will be announced at ANZ Stadium on Monday, follow extensive research by the four clubs on what fans wanted at their games for season 2018.
NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said he expected members and other supporters to take advantage of the offers.
"Our aim is to make it easier and more affordable for fans to attend matches – and these measures should go a long way to doing that," Greenberg said.
"This is a real example of clubs working together to get the best result for the fans and for the game."
The first opportunity for fans to take advantage of the offers at ANZ Stadium will be in round one, when the Wests Tigers host the Sydney Roosters and their former star fullback James Tedesco on Saturday, March 10
ANZ Stadium is set to host a number of other NRL blockbusters in 2018, with the Rabbitohs, Manly Sea Eagles, Parramatta and Cronulla Sharks scheduled for a round three double-header.
The four Sydney clubs will also be on show regularly throughout the season given the Eels temporary move from Parramatta while the area's new stadium is under construction, resulting in a number of local derbies at Olympic Park.
I’ve said many times I drive.
I can’t stand shit footy beer.
Agreed. Better attack equals bigger crowds and TV. Its like, are you going to go see a Tarantino movie or a Woody Allen talk fest movie.
Dumb comparison. Tarantino movies are pretty much known for having tons of dialogue. They also aren't particularly big box office draws.
Killing off RG and U20s will have a negative effect
It may take a year or two to see the impact though
