Bring Milne into the Centres, Mann to replace MacDonald and Aitken on the bench as a utility. Aitken is awesome but Milne and Mann in defence will leak fewer points.

I disagree possum mate, giboz right. We have had the club talk up other players as "fullbacks" "five eights" and "halfbacks". The club at the end of last year and early this year actually sounded like they had a succession plan in place with Duffy and field.

If we signed Dugan for the money he wants and Widdop last year could you imagine the uproar in this place? And to be frank I'm not sure they had earnt it. Good old hindsight and we would have had these two locked up last year for peanuts and for life.

We can't have it both ways

While it looks like we are going to pay more than we would have had to last year , I'm glad we waited. Shows Widdop wasn't the rubbish player everyone here had him touted as. We haven't lost anyone we want to keep for next year and beyond yet so let's just let it take its course. I think we are heading in the right direction.

Millward has be able to retain so many great young players for the clubs future and sacrifices will be made in the process.

The cap won't go up as high as was first anticipated so players will just have to take pay cuts or they will leave the club should not be held to ransom by anyone.

Hunt imo if reports are true has been paid a little more then i would have spent but he is a genunine number 7 and they are at a premium.

Looking at the under 20's and how many of those young guys signed to longer contracts and the landscape of lower level league comps in the near future ie state based under 20's and a national second grade comp i rather see the club have a developing squad instead of a bunch of mid range fringe frisrt graders.

So the like of Marketo, Masoe, Glymin and KKFL as an instance will be moved on.

Recruitment is not a problem.
Dugan, Widdop and packer have the same manager.
So I think thats the problem

Yes and yet here we are. Two of our marquee players - Dugan and Widdop - remain unsigned. 4 other good first graders - Packer, Lafai, Mann, Milne remain unsigned. Millward prioritised juniors over these players.

My view is that we should extend our marquee players and first graders who we want to keep as a first step and at a fair price. If our offer is rejected or not acted upon, go searching for a similar standard of player and withdraw offers as you accept competing offers In this way we mitigate risk of being left without.
