Might be time to retire the @we are mentally tougher under brad" speech now.

It's about 6 from 6 for predicting a mentally weak flogging.

We were mentally tough last night. We pretty much won the forward battle. But a couple of poor defensive efforts and only fielding 12 players cost us.

It was worse than fielding 12 players outright because with only 12 men you can still push up hard and force them to have to go around you by trusting the man next to you. Sandow's refusal to try put huge pressure on Manu Ma'u and Brad Takairangi who knew they had someone they couldn't trust next to them which clouded their defensive reads and decision making.

In what planet were we mentally tough against an extremely depleted Tigers outfit?

If you think we were mentally tough against the Tigers you have little understanding of what it takes to be successful in the NRL. Your continual backing of a mediocre team probably reinforces that.

Mental toughness is not fluking a win out of your arse because you have superior players on the field than your opposition.

What's the tigers have to do with it?

I was referring to the dogs game. But even the Tigers we did alright yeah we played shit. But had just as many injuries as the Tigers. Plus we give up a lead and could have easily lost like the eels of the past would have. But managed to win even after playing shit.

I misread your first post, I thought you wrote 'last week' instead of 'last night'.

Tims the biggest dope to play for the club since 1947 and a huge part of the poor culture we have had at the club for years, the blokes a complete joke.

During interviews, he obviously uses the media training to say perfectly politically correct statements that give the media the little soundbites that they run with and don't cause the club any negative press. He plays them with a dead bat. He's smart enough to not get himself or the club into Sandow-like trouble by making outlandish statements.

On the field, at the start of the season i thought he started slowly and wasn't particularly good but has definitely gotten a lot better as the season has gone on. He consistantly does his job but will probably never be the Fifita type of game breaker. But we have Jnr Paulo, Tapai and Pauli Pauli developing into that role.

Hopefully - he used to just try and get on his belly for the quick play the ball. Seems like now he is trying to hit, spin his back to the defence while on his feet, and get the offload away.
