the older guys should have told you already
but its a ritual in your first game to grab a guy on the "wheels" in a tackle and start a stink

just make sure the ref know its your debut so he doesn't send your off

Be second man in on your first tackle to get a feel for getting back in the line when on defence.

As others have said...try and get your first run off an easy pass from your halfback.

Show the attacking winger the sideline and if you have a bit of pace take him around the waist as your centre should be assisting you and can wrap the arms or upper body.

Just got back from what i thought was just a game. It was a knockout competition. Here's how it went, my team is Cromer.

Game 1: Cromer 20-0 Killarney Heights.
Game 2: Cromer 6-6 Narrabeen.
Game 3 (Final): Cromer 0-6 Balgowlah.

Now, it was a fun day. Although, i only got to play 5 minutes for Game 1 and Game 2. Plus, i didn't tackle anybody or touch the ball. Oh well, at least i got the day off school.

So, will you be back for more ??

Yeah, i will. I mean, the coach even said me "Boy, i regret not choosing you to play more.". This happened when i was practicing bombs after the game. There were about 10 players on the bench, so i can see why he didn't pick me more.
