And what did they do that made you so upset Diddums. What did the naughty men from Sydney do to you darlin. Did they frighten our little NQboy.
Poor little bugger.

:clap::clap::clap:

No preach, the nasty men from Sydney gave him a team to support.

I'll send him a blanket and a tin of beans.

Youre making sense for once, though how anyone can change teams is beyond me.
I have Ink's approval. I'm so happy

My rationale for changing teams is quite simple really. I supported South Sydney through the 80s as they were the underdog with a real fighting spirit. I switched to Brisbane when they started because Qld finally had a team and I lived in Brisbane. I switched to North Queensland when we started because I'm a North Queenslander. If NQ had been playing the whole time, they would have been the only team I supported and it wouldn't have been an issue. Capiche?

Maybe this was mentioned before earlier ( i dont have time to flick back through), but if the Tits are so concerned about drawing a huge crowd, why dont they shift theyre game to ANZ? Its closer to the Gold Coast, has a higher capacity than Suncorp (nearly 60000 i think, correct me), and they wont be treading on the Broncos feet. Fair enough its a crap ground to watch footy at (i remember sitting in the 2nd row and being about 40 metres away from the sideline) but hey, the Broncos put up with it for years... Searle is a greedy dog, all he wants is to piss the broncos off to try and steal a share of Brisbane's (gullible, bandwagoning) fans.
I'm not sure, but I think QEII is a shadow of its former self these days and probably not up to NRL standard. I remember a lot of money was put into it after the Broncos left to bring itup to standard as an athletics venue again. Fairly sure a lot of seats were removed and capacity is a fraction of what it was.

So you suggest that it be a St George home game? How can a Titans v Dragons be a Broncos home game?????

I was refering to when they wanted to play the Broncos in round 1, thats what they wanted, they realised they had very little chance of getting it, so now they want priority over the Broncos at the Broncos home ground.

Belmore Sports Ground was home to Parramatta for 3 seasons. Canterbury had no problem with it- except whinging about having to use the visitors change rooms for one game per year.

Parramatta Stadium was Canterbury's home ground in 1995. Likewise, Parra had no problem.

Nor did the Roosters have a problem sharing the SFS with Saints and Souths for all those years.

Only Brisbane could whinge at that!

BTW, Lang Park was also home to the Crushers. That was after Brisbane shafted Lang Park to moved to ANZ.

And the main reason the redevelopment went ahead for lang park was because the Broncos returned.

This is the way I see it:
I don't think having the Broncos and the Titans play at Suncorp the same weekend would be a blight on support. Suncorp is the best Rugby League ground in Queensland, it has the highest capacity, the Titans are a new team in the area and tickets to their first NRL match will sell like pancakes. Sydney can hold a double header at Homebush for several years in succession and none of the other Sydney clubs that don't feature have a problem with it. I'm sure the Titans opening at Suncorp wouldn't cripple the Broncos at all, even if they open the season on Friday night and Brisbane play on Sunday- it won't matter a bit. If anything, surely the Broncos players would be pleased to see Gold Coast soak up the pressure while they prepare for the first home game back since winning the comp?

I believe U2 are playing there this weekend or sometime soon to a crowd of around 65,000...

Lang Park redevelopment went ahead before the Broncos came back. It was always going to happen, even if only for Origin. The Broncos agreeing to be tennants helped, but was by no means crucial.

I think you overstate the meaning of 'home ground'. It's not 'exclusive ground' or 'owned ground'

Consider other 'home grounds' -

Parra stadium has been home to Canterbury, Parra Power and the 2 blues, also test football and panasonic cup finals.

Canberra Stadium hosts the Raiders and Brumbies.

EA hosts the Knights, and for years any other sporting event in Newcastle.

Leichhardt hosted a midweek comp for years which involved, I think, about 40 different teams

The SFS/Sportsground has been used by everyone from Union, soccer, Empire Games etc.

Telstra - where do we start?

Olympic Park - ditto

Mt Smart - ditto.

In fact the latter 4 have held 3 Commonwealth Games and 2 Olympics between them.

The Broncos have no exclusive rights over Suncorp. The QLD gove built it for Rugby League in Queensland - for ALL Queenslanders, not just the ones who make up their own comps when they get upset.

Imagine the thought of all the Queenslanders taxpayers money that went into it, that could have gone into schools or hospitals, that Queenslanders can't utilise because one private organisation wants to use it 2 days later????

Typical selfish Bronco greed.

Typical MB pig ignorance and Broncos bias.

The Lang Park redevelopment was dependant on the Broncos taking up residence even though that wsn't confirmed until later. Simply, without the Drongos playing there, they couldn't make the thing pay.

So we have NQboy who doesn't live in NQ buts supprots the Cowpats, after an extensive 'try before you buy' period involving 14 other clubs.

Coupled with Charlie (Queenslander 'till I die) Saab who has never been further north than Hornsby.

Throw in LockyNo.1 who will follow the Broncos to his death, as long as it is an official NRL game, his jet can get to Brisbane Airport on a tank of Avgas, and is not otherwise distracted by minor tennis tournaments, marbles comps or handball.

Polish it off with Locky4President, and his claim that the NSWRL, in admitting Canberra, Illawarra, Newcastle, GoldCoast, Broncos, Crushers, Cowboys, Auckland and the Reds was being 'Sydneycentric'......

Ample proof that ya don't need a circus to have clowns!

I'm sorry, I didn't hear the news. Where have they beamed Cairns to if it's not in NQ?

But I shouldn't make fun of you. You'd be close to necking yourself when you found Inane Link on your side, wouldn't you? Here's hoping...

Well done on avoiding the rest of his argument nqboy... it's your forte ;-)

I see no actual retort to the point that Brisbane have no claim to Suncorp. They don't own the ground... whether the redevelopment happened due to their tenancy or not, they don't own the ground. End of story. Titans, if they pay the money, should be able to do as they please.

Where did I claim that the Broncos own Lang Park? I've already suggested Broncos v Cowboys Friday night, Titans v Dragons on Sunday. What else do you want Dummah?

I just don't get why you're defending the Broncos as you appear to be when their management behaves like a petulant child.

The argument is lost when the only retort is to call someone a pig or a girl. We won quite a while ago, Dodgey :)
