Well done on avoiding the rest of his argument nqboy... it's your forte.
Don't confuse ceasing banging my head against a wall of ignorance (you and MB) with avoiding the rest of his argument.

I've posted my preference elsewhere and, as premiers, I think Brisbane have earned the right to play first if they want to. Does that clarify it for you?

NQ you said you lived in Brisbane.
Yes, I did. But my header has included my location as Cairns since I started posting here a few years ago and I have listed my move back to NQ in a number of threads. Now, I don't expect you to know or care about where I live. Unless you want to bag me for it, of course, in which case you should take the time to do your research and get your facts right.

BTW, I contacted Peter Wynn's to hold a Dogs jersey for you when you move to Bankstown
Thanks for the thought but unneccessary. I won't be moving to Bankstown and I'd be ashamed to wear their colours after the way they have dragged the game through the mud. It's easy to bag me with a cheap throwaway line for changing clubs but harder to fault my reasoning and quite obviously beyond you based on your arguments and those of Inane Link.

Why does every team want to play the Dragons in week 1? Must have something to do with their poor starts.

*waits for a thread where nqboy doesn't bring up the Bulldogs unnecessarily*

Seriously mate, get a grip. Bring up past crap all you like but the club is definitely getting things back on track now. Move on like the rest of the league community.

It's actually become somewhat of a regular thing for The Dragons to play the previous season's Premiers in the first round.
It may be because we will draw a crowd from round 1, where as some sides have to win a few before "the mushrooms" start popping up singing "thats my team".
It also gives the sheep a chance to start bleating early in the season about The oft used "choke" theme that comes out whenever we get beaten, which is usually in Round 1.:D

I think it has a lot to do with their following. Like them or not, the Bulldogs and Dragons are the two sides with followings truly all over Australia and the Bulldogs also stretch really well into NZ.

Opening round crowds are important to teams and playing one of those two ensures a big crowd, regardless of whether the game is in Sydney, Auckland or Brisbane.

Reasoning..

Something better comes along so you just change.

Not just once, which could be understanderble, but TWICE.

Whens your next switch due?

Didn't think you could muster an argument against the logic and it would seem I was right.

I feel so inadequate, unable to measure up to your peculiar standards :(

I'd be ok if we drew the Warriors in Auckland for R1. While it would be a bit of a disappointment to miss out on seeing my team on the first week of the season, I can see that the Dogs draw well there and as a first game it would be a big success.

Ah well.

I believe U2 are playing there (ANZ) this weekend or sometime soon to a crowd of around 65,000...
A lot of those would have been on the grass.

Fans vent stadium fury

SUNCORP Stadium has officially become the Government's preferred choice for superstar acts after thousands of U2 fans were left stranded on Tuesday night. As U2 finished their week-long Queensland sojourn yesterday, Sports Minister Andrew Fraser said the supergroup's show could be the last concert held at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, formerly ANZ Stadium.

Fans yesterday vented their anger at public transport and ticketing arrangements for the Irish supergroup's performance, when more than 45,000 people were forced to battle weeknight traffic and overcrowded buses just getting to the show. U2 were forced to delay their arrival on stage for half an hour after thousands of fans were trapped in long queues outside the stadium, with only one entry for 21,000 general admission patrons.

Alexander Richmond, 23, a U2 diehard from Indooroopilly, waited an hour in the queue at the gate and an hour on the bus from the city. Afterwards, he didn't get home until 1am. "People were getting annoyed and pushing over the barricades because there was only one gate to get in and they were worried it would start without them," Mr Richmond said. "With the buses, everywhere you turned you just saw another queue."

But Brisbane City Council yesterday claimed success with the public transport arrangements, which saw almost 200 extra buses rostered on for the event. Public transport chairwoman Victoria Newton blamed the timing of the event on Melbourne Cup day and a weeknight for the delays.

"About 40 per cent of the crowd travelled by bus and that would have to be one of the biggest groups we have ever carried," Cr Newton said. "I think we would all prefer to see it held at a venue that could cater better," Cr Newton said.

The Beattie Government legislated earlier this year to overturn a ban on concerts at the inner-city Suncorp Stadium. The stadium's first major act will now be UK superstar Robbie Williams on December 13 and 14.

And now it turns out to be nothing more than a media beat-up.

From http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,20731290-10389,00.html

But Titans chief executive Michael Searle last night denied the club had sought the Friday night slot.

He said he had phoned Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen two weeks ago to reassure him the Titans were pushing for a Sunday afternoon debut.

"It appeared things had been misinterpreted and I just wanted to set the record straight," Searle said.

"We've got no issues with the Broncos at all. There might be a perception that there is some great rivalry between the clubs and on the field I'm sure that will be the case.

"But off the field, the administrations get on fine.

"No one wants to see league lose ground to the other football codes and I think both clubs realise the entry of the Gold Coast into the comp has helped increase interest in the game in Queensland."

Searle said the Titans were pleased with the Sunday afternoon scheduling as it gave fans more time to travel to the Brisbane venue.

He said the Dragons also enjoyed massive support in Queensland, giving the Titans confidence the first game would be a 52,000 sell-out.

"We are more than happy to be playing on the Sunday. It suits us fine," Searle said.

"There might have been transport issues had it been a Friday night game.

Gotta expect that at a venue now calling itself Q-SAC.

Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre = Q-SAC.

And after the debacle there with U2, the ground sounds about as useless as balls on a cow.

Explain to me how the U2 concert was a debacle? I stood outside the ground and even I wouldn't call it a debacle.
