They had a good nucleus: Cornette, D'Amore, Jeff Jarrett, Dutch Mantell and even Russo's crazy ass. Atleast the programming was different.
Once you got rid of the guys who kept it grounded, the likes of Russo and Bischoff have been allowed to run riot, and f**k everything up like they did in 99/00.
I would book the sh*t out of that Radicalz 2.0 angle, from earlier on, leading up to Lockdown, where Lethal Lockdown for ownership of the company would culiminate in a Team TNA victory. They're gonna do that anyway, but the buildup/booking has been so sh*t the past 2 years or so, that no one cares.
My Lockdown card would have went:
Lethal Lockdown Match - Ownership of the company
Team TNA(Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Homicide, Hernandez and Low Ki) vs Team Hogan or whatever its called (Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Abyss, Mr. Anderson and The Pope)
Legends Match - One Night Only
Ric Flair vs Sting
TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Rob Van Dam (c) vs AJ Styles
Ultimate Grudge Match

That card would rock and I'd heavily hype it as a "Survivor Series End of Invasion Angle" type thing.
You've got your TNA spotfest, with some added flavour who we've seen on TV before, as well as a Japanese guy, and some faces that the TNA crowd really go for, esp Elix Skipper who always does something stupid. I'd have Kendrick go over, he's a WWE guy, and though he's not the best worker, he'd be a good guy for Kaz to fued with in the coming months as TNA rebuilds post-Hogan. Also gives the WWE an early point on the board.
You've got your womans championship with the WWE chick up against the face of TNA Woman wrestling, Id have Angelina play the face. Love to take the W.
You've got Kaz playing the dominant yet cocky cruiserweight champ ala Jericho in his early days taking on an unknown opponent who is a legend of cruiserweight style wrestling and the crowd know him from the WWE. You could have Kaz rip on him at the beginning for being a jobber, Japanese etc, then have Taka take him to the wire.
You've got the match TNA fans would die for, and the only tag team match worth watching in the States outside of ROH. Id have Beer Money (as heels) go over in a tight match, forcing the other two to split, they're due anyway and this fued has been done to death.
I would have had Desmond attack Angle months ago for beating him in two matches, brag about Angle not proving anything to him. Blah blah blah, your typica face vs heel bullsh*t, but the match would tear the hosue down and I'd put the focus not on personalities, but on in ring ability. Angle to win, but to shake Desmonds hand after the match, giving eachother respect.
You've got your bloodfest which stems back to the end of WCW. In this match I'd have Hogan go over Jarrett, only for Jarrett to have his revenge, but the lasting vision of the match would be Russo planting Bischoff square in the face.
Then, we've got the dream match which everyone wants to see. RVD, the WWE guy vs AJ, the TNA guy. This would rock, put them in a cage and they'd come up with all sorts of crazy spots. I'd have AJ go over in a tight contest, putting him over as the top extreme highflier in the "world".
Then we've got the legends match, which no matter how much it would stink, would be nostelgia x infinity. The match we never got to see, to right the travesty that was their match on the last ever Nitro. Have them go oldschool, but mix a bit of new school in there with some TNA ish stuff i.e. have Flair hit something from the top rope, or hit a crucifix pin, have some TNA type transitions/reversals etc. Im not sure who Id have go over here, it really wouldnt matter, but probably Sting.
Then you'd have the blow off to end all blow offs. Team Hogan i.e. WWE vs Team TNA. This match would have everything. Sick Abyss spots, awesome brawling, a stupid Hardyz spot, some great technical stuff between Pope and Joe, Some Low Ki kicks and chops, LAX vs Hardyz, Mr. Anderson some how getting a mic and running his mouth during the match, Id go all f**king out. Oldschool War Games style, you'd have the heels get the advantage, have Hogan and Bischoff hit ringide bloodied and throwing weapons in prematurely before the roof closes only for Russo and Jarrett (who hd supposed to be taken to hospital earlier) to chase them off. In the end, you'd have TNA go over ,with either Daniels or Joe getting the fall, and the world is rid of Hogan for good.
That card would have something for everyone.
