TNA SuperThread SPOILERS

Well the current World Championship storyline has hit a snag. Kenny King qualified for the Round of 16 elimination tournament despite not being employed by TNA since July, and now being an active member of ROH.

It's a good signing for all involved.

TNA needs new faces who can work towards the top of the card. If they're to survive, they need to keep building new stars. The biggest problem with TNA is that a lot of their talent is made up of guys who came from the WWE system. So signing a guy like Mike Bennett gives TNA a fresh talent who they can help mould.

The move also helps out ROH who have become a little stagnant and need to free up spots for other wrestlers on their card.

Finally, the move gives Bennett an opportunity to improve himself as a worker and break through the plateau he found himself in ROH. Bennett was a guy Cornette had earmarked for big things, but got lost in the shuffle following Jim's departure. ROH tried everything, but it didn't work out. After 5 years in the company, it was time for a change and Bennett has an opportunity to break out.

This is a huge show coming up for TNA. They have been utterly irrelevant for two years now and need to give fans a reason to tune in. With Lucha Underground gaining traction and ROH recording some of their best business in their history, TNA has got to pull out all the stops.

Word is Taryn Tyrrell is gone from the company after "finding God". Advertising for The Dollhouse vs Beautiful People match on their website shows Rebel as their new leader. Also strange for this match to be a 6 girl tag since Angelina Love is up the duff.

So a few results from Impact:

- EC3 beat Bobby Lashley to progress to the finals of the Heavyweight Title tournament
- Matt Hardy beat Eric Young to progress to the finals of the Heavyweight Title tournament
- "The Miracle" is Mike Bennett. Maria is his valet as expected.
- James Storm saved Bobby Roode from a beat down from Eric Young and Bram, reforming Beer Money Inc
- Awesome Kong turned heel by attacking The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne) & Gail Kim after they beat The Dollhouse
- EC3 beat Matt Hardy to win his 2nd TNA World Heavyweight Title.

Genuinely surprised to see Storm head back to TNA, but I guess there's more money to be made there than as an occasional appearance on NXT.

Never going to complain about more Beer Money and EC3, but it looks like a rather inauspicious debut/return for the brand.

On paper, that's a solid return show for TNA.

I like that TNA were able to take the James Storm spoiler, and still make it somewhat surprising. Beer Money Inc maybe the best tag team TNA ever produced and it gives two of TNA's better workers a prominent position on the card.

I've got mixed feelings over the TNA Heavyweight Title tournament. When you put together a tournament like that, I believe it's best to head in a new direction to justify the suspense. Months and months of build-up just to hand it back to the heel champion is anti-climatic no matter the situation. Still, EC3 is the best heel champion in all of Pro Wrestling (now that Suzuki has dropped the GHC Championship) and he gives TNA plenty of options moving forward.

I'll have to check the show out later.

Kurt Angle also announced that he will be hand picking his last matches in TNA. His first one will be against Drew Galloway.

I will say, they wasted one of their best opportunities for their relaunch by having Eddie Edwards vs Davey Richards taped for Xplosion.

PPV matches announced:

- Kurt Angle & Drew Galloway vs Jesse Godderz & Eli Drake vs The American Wolves

- Beer Money Inc vs Eric Young & Bram

And judging by his debut, expect Mike Bennett vs Matt Hardy & Awesome Kong vs Gail Kim
