I've only seen him play centre and he did very well there.

I'm hoping he will be used off the bench as an impact backrower though. And he can provide cover for the outside backs if one goes down injured during a game.

I'm not saying it isn't No'nu or the other dude - I don't know - yet

However, lesson in logic.

Does that article say Rugby Union player?

If it were either wouldn't it say Fijian or All Black or International star?

A Polynesian centre-wing star could be any nuffie that played for a Polynesian team in the world cup - IF it's a union bloke.

Could also be Wes Naiqama if he didn't end up signing with the Drags as I thought.

Is Nonu Polynesian? - YES
Is Nonu a Centre-Wing? - YES
Is Nonu a Star? - YES

I don't know who it is either, but I do thinks its fair to say that Nonu does fit the description of the article. So that my lesson in logic.:p

Reefy, why the knocking of Scott all the time?
You still unhappy about the treatment of your boy McGoldrick.
If he is as good as what you think then why hasnt he already being signed up.

In regard to Scott, yes he has a few areas to improve on but IMO he showed more in a few games than McGoldrick and a few others showed in two years and most people on this forum seem to agree.

Scott will only get better

I don't know much about Ma'Nonu can anyone on here shed some light on this bloke for me.

Ofthe top of my head, hes a massive centre whos incredibly fast and incredibly big.

Hes got about 9 caps for the Blicks I think and is only being held up by Umagas experience.

He wears eyeliner.

After a stunning debut season in 2003, Ma’a Nonu was unable to reproduce such form for the Hurricanes in 2004.

However some hard work prior to the 2004 Air New Zealand NPC season, including a stint with the New Zealand Sevens team, meant that Nonu was back to his best towards the end of the year.

He earned a recall to the All Blacks and further development in his game means he now has the ability to play second five-eighths, centre and wing.

With fellow All Blacks teammates Conrad Smith and Tana Umaga, the Hurricanes trio form midfield combinations which are the envy of other Rebel Sport Super 12 teams.

Below figures correct at beginning of the 2005 rugby calendar:

Provincial Caps 22
Provincial Points 30 (6t)
Provincial Debut 2002 v Hawke’s Bay
Super 12 Caps 21
Super 12 Points 35 (7t)
Super 12 Debut 2003 v Crusaders

Its a shame that a bloke like scott who is actually showing that he has some potential in firsts might not get a look in and a bloke like Simmo just walks straight in...
