I told Frenzy and SharkShocked I thought he would stay, but gee, it took some big balls to knock back.

I actually saw Penrith offer. Todd's loyalty should never be questioned.

True.

I didn't see The Panthers offer, only what was in the rags etc. Still, I knew what the Warriors and Dragons offered and that they had been knocked back so I was pretty confident he would stay. Not avatar confident, but pretty confident.

Wanna get a wriggle on. Paper says young Peach has attracted the interest of six rival clubs. My advice - get him into the 1sts. squad asap and do a deal pronto. We don't want another Frizzell, or even worse.

If loyalty was his deciding factor then it would not have dragged out for as long as it did.

Maybe money wasn't a priority for Todd such as quality of life and being settled.

Loyalty makes me laugh.

A few things;

So no one wants the Chad in team anymore? Do we want Penani there instead, cos I think Chad deserves another shot.

Get Peach in there; its now or never Flanno, we need to keep this famous name in the BWB. Now that Bukuya has signed with the Warriors, f**k him off and chuck young Tyrone on the bench.

How far away is Gibbs?

We need to remember for 2014 that both Robson & CT are off contract this year if both go it does leave door open for one of the young guys either Penani or Fa'amnu Brown to have a go.

Outside of that its open market halves there is a few around with plenty of experience

So just to review

48 hours in club/media talk is equivalent to approx 350 hours of real world time.

thats a ratio of approx 1:7.3

If we lose Peachey it'll be a very poor reflection on the coaching staff.

I agree, now that we have Todd locked in for the next 5 years, getting Peachey locked in is a must.

If we lose him, I'd be asking very serious questions of Flanno and the rest of the coaching staff.

It is based on a thing called Africa time.
This is the first version of time that was used first.
Africa time has been used in places such as Fiji where it is called ...
Yep ... Fiji time.

Now this is where it gets complicated.
When in Africa and you are working under the Africa time model it can be commonly
be referred to as "now now".
Now, "now now" in modern 24 hr time can mean anything from 10 minutes to 3 weeks.
It is basically a very loose "window" of time to which something may or may not happen.

So if you are sardined on a local bus at night about 50 Kms out of Arusha in Tanzania and you ask
the gentleman with the large basket of stinking dried fish on his shoulder..
"Excuse me sir, do you know how long it is before we get there"?
And he says "now now" ... I would try to get comfortable.

Carney costly for Sharks
The Sharks finally got their man in Todd Carney – but it will come at a price. Cronulla were hoping to snare Carney for $600,000, but big bids from the Panthers and Warriors pushed his final deal out to $750,000 a season. That means that the Sharks will have to let a player go to stay under the salary cap – and it's likely to be former Test back-rower Anthony Tupou. The rampaging back-rower has already had feelers from the Warriors and England and has some decisions to make as there won't be room for him at Cronulla.

How is losing an overpaid Tupou anything bad?

5 years was a harsh penlty. Warriors linked in tje past with Peach.. Now cashed up due to TC knockback. Typical us, Peach bound to want more than h would have weeks ago. Perhaps he is now dragging he new contract out to get more. Hell his highlight package is awesome.

Gus Gould on trying to recruit Carney and Thurston

My time with Todd Carney was equally rewarding.

I have no doubt this young man has his best football days still in front of him. Despite some time off with injury this year, some of Todd's football for the Sharks has been brilliant. He is undoubtedly one of the top playmakers in the game.

He has the unique ability to create opportunities for others. He frightens defences with his speed. He can taunt a defensive line with the way he shows and feigns with the ball. He can pass short or long, early or late, fast or slow. He makes teammates look good. He is also prepared to take a hit to eventually get the result he desires. These are the players you need to have in your club.

In my conversations with him, however, I also found a real football brain behind the raw natural talent. Todd knows the game and talks intelligently about his own football and those he opposes.

This kid has a depth to his personality I think few have had the pleasure to see. We have all seen the headlines from his early wild-child days. I have a pretty high tolerance to this sort of thing in kids. I'm not suggesting I'm always right. But I know how much people can grow and how there is always good in all people if you just take the time to look in the right places. What I found with Todd, just like Thurston, was a real motivation to succeed and a determination to become the best he can be. Polite, well-mannered, respectful; it was a pleasure to be in his company.
