it seems like V'landys, News and people like Phil Gould want a much simpler and smaller administration that just funnels money to the clubs, states and players. Which is strange, because it's the complete opposite of what the "best run sporting body in the world" AFL does.

The more I hear, the more I'm of the opinion that the CEO and Chair of the NRL NEED to be from Queensland.

At the risk of making a gross generalisation, Queensland administrators just seem to be FAR more outward looking & progressive than their NSW counterparts.

The top two in that list are rated highly by others and potentially the best candidates

I have no problem with those two in charge, provided they tick all the right boxes at the start then see what happens after 6 months

We definitely needed change at the top. Greenburg wasn't too bad at the start because he was a club CEO but not long after you could sense it was the same old same old from an NRL CEO making inconsistent decisions and reacting too much to the media, club CEOS and coaches.

He'd take one look at all the factions, self interest, infighting, and the power that the clubs, NSWRL, QRL, and media have in RL, then he'd walk away and let somebody else ruin their career trying to achieve the impossible of bringing them all into line.

We may as well base them in Melbourne, given we keep hearing that Brisbane can only support one team. Why base the NRL in a location that hardly has an NRL presence?
