Oasis better than OK Computer AND The Bends? Stone Roses better than ANY Beatles album? Kid A not on the list at all?

This list is a joke right?

I think it's a very good list. I have 38 of them.

Who's Next's ommission is just dumb. I love the Stone Roses' debut but it would be around 20 in my list. It was an important album in that it gave depth to the burgeoning Madchester movement and kickstarted the UK indie wave of the nineties.

Fantastic to see the Fannies in the list with Grand Prix, a classic power pop album. I'm going to see them for the umpteenth time tomorrow night at the Metro. Their shows are always joyous, warm and fuzzy.

Status Quo? Slade? 10CC? Boring MOR junk with no depth.

The Quo put out some good big dumb rock singles but that's about it.

Bloody good list there - Radiohead dorks must be crying over 'OK Computer' not getting the number 1 spot ;)
I'll put my hand up as a Radiohead dork, but OKC isn't even my fave Radiohead album (Kid A > Bends > OKC). I would have gone Revolver or The White Album as number 1 any way...

Weird list really in terms of where they came in.
Pink floyd's P.A.T.G.O.D before dark side of the moon is suprising.

Stone roses coming first????

Teenage fanclub's grand prix makes it but not bandwangonesque.

Happy Mondays???? forgive me but I don't get it , that band don't do anything for me.

But my biggest concern was no mention of Adam and the Ants " Kings of the wild frontier " or the classic" Prince Charming" :)

Who the f**k voted for ABC's lexicon of love?

what about The Cult, were they poms or seppo's?
I for some reason thought they were pommies , "Electric" surely should of got a start.
Probably yanks though.

You would.

That's like admitting that you are the proud founder of the John Wayne Gacey fan club for mine. That list is a toss.

Status Quo have been going since the late 1960's, they still put on a show and still draw a decent crowd in Sydney when they play here.

They play unashamedly simple rock and roll and I doubt that you've heard any more than three or four of their songs anyway. I wouldn't swap one of my Quo albums for all "38" of yours.

They weren't of your time and you obviously don't rate them but then again you follow the the Newtown WhoreBags so you're automatically an idiot.

There a few Queen albums that deserve to be in that list before a number of the albums named.

That list, dare i say, is a completely f**king f**ked!

I have 11.

Interesting to see that Dublin bands Thin Lizzy and My Bloody Valentine made it into the British list. Next they'll be calling Crowded House Aussies.

This is true...

Jailbreak...Good album but they aren't British! Try telling a Thin Lizzy fan that they are British and you'd get yer head kicked in! Phil Lynott was from Dublin FFS!

Last i looked Ireland was a Republic...

If your going to have Irish bands you'd have bands from Belfast as Northern Ireland is still "British"... so I'd have to nominate "Inflammable Material" by Stiff Little Fingers and "Teenage Kicks" by The undertones!

Good taste there.

There is a statue of Phil Lynott being unveiled in Dublin this weekend, followed by a tribute concert with the surviving members of the band.
