Yeah I met him with Reefy and the King one day.
I was in the same state as Mr Mc Gowan.
I think Shane is a tad taller.

You would.

That's like admitting that you are the proud founder of the John Wayne Gacey fan club for mine. That list is a toss.

Aw bubby. Your feelings are hurt because the list doesn't validate your "taste" in music. Touching...

Status Quo have been going since the late 1960's, they still put on a show and still draw a decent crowd in Sydney when they play here.

They play unashamedly simple rock and roll and I doubt that you've heard any more than three or four of their songs anyway. I wouldn't swap one of my Quo albums for all "38" of yours.

Blah blah blah. I know all of that, it doesn't mean I like them or think they are any good. You don't have a clue how much I've heard of them. Ooh, let's just assume that he's ignorant and hasn't had the chance to fully understand how awesomely amazing they are.

They put out some decent singles. End of story.

You can bag out my taste in music all you want. My ego doesn't rely on people's appreciation of it.

They weren't of your time and you obviously don't rate them but then again you follow the the Newtown WhoreBags so you're automatically an idiot.

What's "my time"? How old am I? Don't assume, because it makes you an ass, etc.

You have something pretty large stuck up your chakra.

Good taste there.

There is a statue of Phil Lynott being unveiled in Dublin this weekend, followed by a tribute concert with the surviving members of the band.

http://www.roisindubh.info/unveiling.htm

Why thank you Mr Morairty! :D

Yeah, a guy I work with is from Dublin and he's mad for Thin Lizzy! I tried to argue with him that SLF are the best band to come from Ireland and he was about to f**kin' kill me  ...

Yep, he also told me about that statue which I think is being unveiled on his anniversary followed by the "Vibe For Phillo" concert which they have on his anniversary every year....my mate wanted to go home for it but couldn't get time off!

Who needs validation of their musical taste?

I listen to what I like, the list means nothing to me and my record / CD collection.

Weren't you the one who was bragging about how many he had from that list?

I wouldn't be bragging, and I wouldn't swap one Quo album for your whole collection.

You are ignorant. Status Quo and Slade were/are popular bands, as were Queen. It seems to me that is the reason they didn't make the list in front of such musical giants as Fairport Convention, The Las, ABC, Vashti Bunyan, Human League etc.

Hell, even Yes made the list, I've seen Yes and Status Quo in concert and Status Quo piss on Yes from a great height.

hrundi99 said:

Well, they have sold 112 million albums world-wide and are second only to the Rolling Stones in charting albums in the UK....

It was a UK list wasn't it?

Not bad for a band who have "put out some decent singles"...

End of story.

Moron.

No, good thing or you'd probably have to top yourself.

it would be a 1 horse race if it was actual sales

1. DSOTM - pink Floyd
2. The Wall - pink floyd
3 Rumours - fleetwoodmac

etc
I dunno Millers, a little group of four known as the Beatles might just sneak in ahead of those albums.

Why get so pent up about it then?

Weren't you the one who was bragging about how many he had from that list?

I wouldn't be bragging, and I wouldn't swap one Quo album for your whole collection.

I wasn't bragging. I was merely stating how many I had, as others have done.

I'm glad you wouldn't swap me. I'm perfectly happy with my collection.

You are ignorant. Status Quo and Slade were/are popular bands, as were Queen. It seems to me that is the reason they didn't make the list in front of such musical giants as Fairport Convention, The Las, ABC, Vashti Bunyan, Human League etc.

Popularity doesn't always equal quality, as Britney, Timberlake, et al suggest.

Once again, record sales don't necessarily mean anything. Big ups for calling me a moron, moron.

No, good thing or you'd probably have to top yourself.

Should I? Please let me know asap.

You were bragging. for you it was some sort of status symbol to have xx amount of albums from that list.

The fact that the list is a load of horse jism escaped you.

You would be.

hrundi99 said:

No one suggested it did. I was merely suggesting that your comments on Status Quo having had "some decent singles" so shouldn't be considered an "Album band" was crap.

And it was crap.

hrundi99 said:

It was, both times.

You would enjoy Yes though, they're a bunch of pretentious wankers.

Well, you are a moron.

Saying that Quo "put out some decent singles" then ending it with "End of story" when clearly a band that has sold 112 million albums+ world-wide and is second in charting album to only the Rolling Stones in the UK does have a large album presence, especially in the UK where the list originated.

You = moron.

Simple.

I'd suggest hanging yourself, but I doubt that you could tie a knot.

That makes you the only person not to have seen Kim Cattrall's beaver.

You should promote yourself based on that.

I'll nominate Pulp's Different Class as one that ought to be there but isn't. Plenty of good stuff on that list but as always it's highly subjective.

IN MY OPINION, they put out some decent singles. I've NEVER seen a Quo album in ANY top 100 album chart EVER.

I'm pretty sure I read relatively recently that the top 5 best-selling albums in the world of all time are:
1. Thriller - Michael Jackson
2. Greatest Hits - Queen
3. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
4. Bad - Michael Jackson
5. uhhh ... I can't remember. Sorry!

Of those top 4, I have 2 of them. I got Michael Jackson's 'Bad' on record when I was about 10yrs old, and I got Queen's Greatest Hits about 11yrs ago. It still gets played heaps of times. I believe that Queen are closing in on the top spot. Personally, I hope it happens - but that may just be me being a tad biased!

As has been pointed out numerous times to you, the place where that list came from is the UK and Status Quo had more charting albums than any other band except the Rolling Stones.

Your opinion is therefore nonsense in this context.

Well, your opinion is always nonsense but still....
