So what we deduce from this thread is that Foran and DCE are way overrated. Stewart is an average FB, Ballin only looks good because he has overrated halves to pass to, our props are all shit, Stewart isn't in the top 5 locks in the game (which would make him average at best) and Watmough may or may not be considered in the top 5 second rowers. They're all made to look better than they are by the talent around them. Considering the above, that means the talent is pretty much Jamie Lyon (he must be the one making the others look good). Geez, Lyon must be the best player to ever lace on a pair of boots because he's carried this team of nuffies to 2 premierships, one by a record score. But even then, he's about the 3rd or 4th best centre in the game.

Basically Manly is a disgusting club that we all hate and credit where credit is due does not count for scum like Manly.

Nothing wrong with hating us. Makes it all the sweeter when we win premierships knowing you lot are shedding a few tears while we celebrate.

Whatever firey, you act like you like being hated but then have a whinge everytime someone says something you dont like about Manly or their players.

Not at all. In the f*ckwith player thread I never opposed people's desire to hate Watmough, Matai, Stewart or anyone else (though I did suggest the Rose hatred was a bit strange). It does take a lot of hatred though to fool yourself into thinking that Manly is full of average players.

Hatred is the food of rednecks. In all seriousness without the right of reply no player deserves to be hated for his behaviour on or off the field.

Criticism in a rational manner sure but only if you are prepared to say what you think to his face. Taking the piss out of rednecks aside
I have no fear of saying what I think face to face to anyone about anything . . . nor copping a return serve

I never said that. Manly has some great players. In fact the only Manly player i really dont like is Matai and occasionally Watmong will shit me.

And I wasn't specifically referring to you. It was a summation of the views of the general LU population (though it seems to be more common in views from Parra fans - but their delusion is apparant since they still rate Hindmarsh).

Best I've seen so far if being realistic means anything here. Your list should have 'on a good day' as a proviso to have Marshall as best

All of the games He plays IMO Hodges is just a passenger atm. I don't thin he has adjusted his offence to the modern day sliding defence. Still think he is a weapon but nowhere near what he used to be.

seems a tad ridiculous doesnt it

Stewart is over rated because his halves do all the creative stuff and he can just focus on being a fullback, and the last thing you ever want from your fullback is him being able to concentrate on being one of the games premier full... never mind

the hooker is average because he, he has good halves to deliver too and they do all the creative stuff so he's just a tackling machine, which again the last thing you want from a hooker is good, quick, clean service with pace to get out and take the ball to the line and dish off his his creative halves... actually, id f**king kill for that at Canberra.

And the halves are over-rated because even though they do all the creative stuff and allow the hooker to just focus on the things hookers should be focused on, and allow the fullback to just do what a fullback does... they are made to look better than they are because of a ball playing back rower and a centre who can create plays

Its like saying that the melbourne spine is made to look better than it is, Slater, Cronk and Smith, all over-rated because of Ryan Hoffman and Greg Inglis

Can scrub O'Davis, Johns and Buderus off the list of great spines too, they were being propped up by Matt Giddley and BK

Or that mullins, stuart, daley and walters were all over-rated because they had Mal Meninga and Brad Clyde helping them.

Or in terms Poo Poo will understand, that Taylor, Kenny, Sterling and Edge were all average players because Cronin, Ella, Grothe and Price we're giving them legs up elsewhere.

Its an absurd arguement

When he can last a season and takes on the responsibility of a Bowen or a Boyd then we can talk about him being a step above them.

Why does he need to take on the responsibility of being a half as well as a FB when he has 2 of the best halves in the comp? Boyd had to because the Dragons' halves aren't great and Bowen had to because Thurston was otherwise trying to run the team on his own. For Manly to be successful, Stewart simply has to move into the backline movements and cross the tryline, he does both. His defense is as good as any other FB as he showed with his trysaver in the midseason game against Brisbane.
