The Donkeys have a bloody easy run home, seems best we can hope for now is a trip to Melbourne or Brisbane first week of finals...

I think we come 5th and play Cowboys first week of the finals at "home." I think I may prefer that as opposed to going to Melbourne after finishing 4th.

Storm and Broncos will lock up 1 & 2 and home field advantage.

That's got to put them as favourites to meet in the GF barring injury.

Having the week off is the key.

Need to finish in the 4 to do that.

I'd still give us a chance in Melbourne or Brisbane.

This team wins games through defensive intensity and experience. Execution is often hit/miss and is covered by tough goal line defence.

The worrying thing for mine is the alarming drop off in physical intensity of the forwards. Line speed is non existent. Prior was the leader in this department but he is a shadow of last year. Fifita is running sideways. Wade is going like a dead set busted. Seggy tackles like Maloney.

One on one missed and conceding soft tries close to the line are out of character but becoming all too familiar.

The errors appear symptomatic of poor application, discipline and low skill level. It's not as if they play expansive attacking footy. It's simple drops from short passes.

Can this be turned around? Yes. Any evidence of turnaround? Not yet.

The lack of response to getting belted last week and playing in the Captains 300th is worrying. If they cant get up for last night then what will get them up...

Just because Capes got a bath by Moga last night, doesnt mean he will again this week. Some very important lessons for him last night & he appears to be a good learner.
kevvie Walters made a great comment last night & said , "it appears that a couple of Sharks have tried to fix things by themselves. Wont ever work".
I knw the Holmes aplogists will come out but I will tell you one thing about Slater the grub. There is never a try scored against the Storm where he hasnt made a real good crack at tackling/wiping out the plaer , right until the last second.
Last night Bronos scored 4 trys , almost untouched.

See my comment on Holmes after second try

Anybody know if there is a reason Ramien hasn't seen first grade footy this year? I thought he was OK in that world club championship game but haven't seen him since.
I'm thinking we will finish 6th or below.

It wasn't the backs that let the side down

He got schooled because the forwards laid down
He made some horrible defensive reads, running out of the line early and such. Just inexperience in my opinion.
Loots and Feki weren't too good either. I don't know if Loots is being told to or just doing it by habit but he ALWAYS does that blocking play when they bomb to Feki. It is f**king stupid and half the time it is a penalty to the opposition.
The whole team was atrocious and need a good kicking up the backside.

We want to finish 4th and play the Storm in the first week.

Regardless of the result, we wouldn't see them again to the GF.

I'd rather play Brisbane week 1, it'll be harder to win up there with the refs on their side.

Best play them in a non-knockout game.
