Tottenham Hotspur: "To Dare Is To Do" II

This morning is a perfect example of how we should use Europa. Pretty much swapped the whole line up over. I couldn't watch but it sounds like Paulinho impressed.

In games like that in previous years AVB would have played 7-8 first team players, even though we have a big game on Sunday.

Our squad is big enough (and good enough) that we can pretty much have 2 teams to compete in all comps, even if we sell a few more players.

Could be a replacement for either/or Dembele, Sandro, Paulinho or Holtby.

Poch seems to be trying to unload everyone except Lloris, Eriksen and Lamela. I think over a few TWs he eventually will.

He seems very set on what type of player he wants and who he wants.

You were actually pretty good in the first half, but at the same time, Sakho was finding every way possible to f**k us up

6 Out as well as Siggy and Daws. Gomez and Benny deals expired.

Couliably - Bari - Perm
Gomlet - Bari - Loan
Obika - Swindon - Perm
Holtby - HSV - Loan -
Fryers - Palace - Perm -
Sandro - QPR - Perm -

14 out all up, net profit of about 13mill.

Once again proving its all about the bottom line rather than improving our squad. The most we paid for a player was €8 million (Fazio) and we haven't really strengthened our squad imo.

I don't think we've had a terrible window, I haven't seen anything of Fazio and Stambouli so can't really comment on them. From all reports though Fazio is solid and he will be an upgrade on Dawson. Hopefully Davies comes into the team soon because I've had it with Rose.

We've managed to keep Lloris/Vertonghen/Eriksen/Lamela which is of course a positive and a good base to go from.

Walker has been out for so long he will be like a new signing and you can add him into that core group of key players because he was one of our best last year before going down.

The only slight concern I have is letting both Siggy and Holtby go. I understood the Siggy release at the time, but now we are left with hardly any back up to Eriksen if he gets injured. Seems possible that Paulinho or possibly Dembele might be turned into an attacking mid when necessary.

Sounds like we royaly f**ked up the welbeck deal, hardly surprised

We couldn't agree on a valuation, seems someone else valued him higher than us

Sad about Sandro since he will never be the same again after his injury, he needs pain killer to play and can only play for a month or so at a time then needs extended time off, hence why we sold him at only 6mill and his contract was running out so we had to cash in

Walker could be in the same boat as TS basically forced him to play injured last season and has done irreparable damage, TS had no idea how to manage a squad. Walker may be OK in the long term but not this year, he will need to be carefully managed.

Just on out main targets MM and MS, we could not agree on valuations, even when we did early Soton moved the goal posts and Levy will not pay above market value for anyone. MM was a nightmare with the 3rd party ownership and we moved to Fazio pretty early on, well before we signed him.

We got 4 backs and a goalie, next window we move up forward. At least we trimmed the squad by alot so now we are not so restricted with incomings next window.

Also read a stat this morning, we have a net spend of 129 mill since the EPL started, the lowest of any EPL team.

Does that stat only included the teams that have competed in every season of the premier league? If so not really that surprising
