To be fair I don't think we "choked" as much as last year, we had a really easy run for a while there (when we were 7 ahead of Arsenal), and we had a difficult run home, far more difficult than others around us.

Read something pretty incredible today -

Tottenham have taken points from their opponents by scoring in the final 10 minutes in the last seven games of this season. Add that to the six consecutive games in February where the same thing occurred

We really fixed that from the start of the year, we dropped a lot of points late at the start.

All in all, I'm disapointed we didn't finish 5th but it's still been my my most enjoyable Spurs season ever. Seeing Bale become the ridiculously good player he has has been particuarly pleasing.

- Last minute equaliser v Man Utd at home
- Late goal by Dembele against Lyon to go through
- Bale goal v West Ham
- 3-0 v Inter at home
- Home wins v Arsenal and Man City
- Plus about 15 awesome Bale goals.

Happy we have AVB, if we keep the majority of the squad together we're in good shape - much better than last offseason in my opinion.

What odds would you put on Bale leaving?

I hope he stays. He's an absolute freak and arguably the 3rd best player in the world.

The Premier League needs him if it wants to be considered the world's best league. It'd be a disaster if he joined the "Madrid conveyor belt".

If Ronaldo returns to Man Utd then he'll go IMO as his replacement.

If Tranny does indeed leave RM, I reckon Perez will throw £60-65m at Levy for him.

Too good to pass up?

Levy is a businessman after all, I doubt he'd pass up an offer that's too good to refuse, especially when you could buy an extra player of world class with the dough.

Ummm....'Arry had Modric, King and van der Vaart to work with, as well as a fit Sandro and Kaboul. We played the whole season virtually without the pair that stayed, as well as a lot of injuries around the clock to key players like Dembele, Assou Ekotto, Defoe and Parker. Whilst most of them may not seem like key players, the reason their loss was so harsh was that we had little depth to replace them. AVB not only managed a higher points total in his first year than 'Arry ever achieved with us, but he did amazingly well considering all the player losses and injuries we suffered. So no, your point is pretty moot. Oh, and unlike 'Arry, AVB had to deal with a disinterested Adebayor/Defoe/Dempsey as his main striker trio. Given all that was going against us, finishing how we did is nothing short of a triumph. That Bale carried us is obviously to our detriment, but if the rest of our out of form players pick up the slack - our strikers in particular - then the need for his game-winning goals will be felt less.

Knowing Levy, and given that he saw how much Ronaldo went for - and Bale is signing a new contract, apparently - 60-65 million pound won't cut it. Bale is now a world class player and probably in the top five players in the world on form at the moment; he was relatively well known before, but after this season, fans from across the globe - and teams - will be baying for his signature. I would expect nothing less than 80-90 million pounds before Levy budges. Is Bale worth that much? I don't think any player is really - even in the age with ridiculous transfer sums - but Levy won't sell him for anything less.

True on all counts. Though Arsenal fans would probably have something similar to say if they finished 5th and not 4th.

I can't see him getting near the fee payed for Ronaldo. He just doesn't have the same marketing power & popularity unfortunately.

Di Maria would IMO be a good replacement, who Levy could get at a reasonable price for a swap deal plus cash.

Levy would inflate the price above Madrid's for any rivals in the EPL.

That's my point though, Levy likely wouldn't sell for anything less. It is a tough situation but I think Bale will stay anyway, but not if we miss the UCL again next season.

This is Dan Levy we're talking about though. I doubt he'd budge an inch, ala the Modric saga. I'd say the most United would willing pay is £40-45m, max 50; no way would he accept for that much.

Levy has said he is not for sale even if we were offered 80-100 mill

he will leave one day but he is only 23, just had a daughter and he has said he is very happy here and wants to help spurs maintain a top 4 spot

I think he will hang around for another few years yet

Levy is actually using him to help recruit for next year, there are benefits of playing next to him, as well as scoring he also sets up alot and striker are exactly what we are in the market for

if and when he goes its madrid with first call, he will not be sold to anyone in the EPL, Levy made that pretty clear especially after the Berbatov incident with ManU

Thanks Ade you numpty. This was the big result of the year, you guys were all over Arsenal, up 1-0 and bossing the game. then this guy gets sent off and Arsenal turn it around and hammer Spuds.

alot of talk this morning saying he has already re-signed for a reported 200K a week which I guess must be euros

those close to the front office are saying its 130K (pounds) a week and Levy is milking it big time offering any striker within earshot the opportunity to play along side GB
