Good summary boxhead, can't argue with any of it, pretty confident well need to bring in a LB in January other then that challenging for the league isn't beyond us, just depends on how much we want to challenge in the other comps. Hopefully we won't take the league cup too seriously
Agreed, us and Arsenal are proving that we can match the top teams pound for pound in the league, which is great to see from a North London perspective. The only issue is that both these teams tend to have good spells for half or part of a season, then drop off towards the middle or back end. We shall wait and see there I guess.
Vlad should get his first run in the Cup game against Villa, he has his work permit now.
I think Paulinho doesn't get enough raps, he's been our best or near enough in about 3 games so far this season.
As far as January goes, hell yeah we need a left back and we need to ditch Naughton.
Agreed on January, methinks Coentrao will be the first player we go for. Madrid owe us a favour after giving Ozil away to Arsenal after all
If we don't end up with a left back, I'll be pretty miffed that we didn't keep Assou-Ekotto; he had his downs, sure, but he's a lot better than Rose and Naughton overall.
To be fair though, Naughton made me pray Rose is our first-team left back  Rose hasn't been half bad to be honest, but he
was responsible for Arsenal's goal.
I also agree on Paulinho, I remember reading on the biggest ManU forum about him and one of them said "oh but he's a sh*t passer" and a bunch of them replied with stats that showed he (at the time) was either the top or in the top five for successful passes in the league.
It really highlights how much we have improved overall. We have so many players capable of making that important tackle or scoring that important goal, as opposed to mostly relying on Vertonghen and Bale last season. And heck, Capoue is injured, Sandro and Kaboul are fighting for fitness, etc. Lots of improvement in this very young team.
