Tottenham Hotspur: "To Dare Is To Do" II

Thats true that he always wanted to play for RM and always thought he would end up there but not this soon.

He did say he wanted to stay at Spurs for another season for family reasons as he just started a family and wanted to stay put for at least another year.

When he was unveiled at Madrid he did the usual "I'm so happy to be here blah blah blah" just like every player that gets paid ridiculous money to move to another club.

I will always support the guy as he was a professional to the end and we are in a good place right now because of him, he has set us up financially for years to come.

Also, he was injured pre season, he actually played in our first trial where he scored our only goal in a 1 nil victory against some nuffies that I cant even remember and he hurt his foot and was out for a month. He probably could have played our last trial but who the f**k in their right mind would risk €100 million on a trial game.

This is the thing mate (and I'm being serious now), the assumptions you made were based on media outlets who were either being fed lies, or making the lies up themselves. The simple truth of the matter is that until that last week, Spurs were adamant Bale would not be sold, and nor had Madrid made a serious offer. Bale was told by the club to stay out of the media and keep to himself across the window, regardless of the outcome, so that he could have a clear head whether he left or stayed.

The media was being drip fed bullsh*t by Madrid, or making it up, so as to turn his head and obviously get lots of hits. It was by far the biggest football story of the transfer window. You could probably theorize that Spurs stoked the fires as well to generate a lot of interest. As far as him wanting to go there, from what we actually know, he would have been fine with staying another year. As we know (and Spurs fans know best) he is a true professional and he doesn't have the ego people make him out to have. He's always wanted to play for Madrid and/or Manchester United, but that didn't mean he actively wanted to leave Spurs. He behaved himself a lot better than Modric did under similar scrutiny, which speaks volumes to his character.

I'm sorry for being a d*ckhead, but really, the truth is that the facts were misconstrued by the media.

I agree with you whole heartedly. Bale was very good with the way he handled everything. After he left for Madrid he did emphasise that he loved the Spurs supporters and that the Spurs would always be close to his heart.

No doubt that he loved playing for Spurs. He loved the club with all his heart. But in circumstances like these no way in the world could he turn down the massive offer he got from Madrid and the chance to play alongside his fav player Ronaldo.

Im sorry for being a dick as well. Hope we can just get on and talk about football rather than say who said what about Bale during that huge saga.

Comes as a surprise actually because AVB generally talks Jose up.

Really looking forward to tonights game as Chavs are a pretty good yardstick to see exactly where we are at atm now that the team has played together for a month or so.

Spurs dominated first half. Should have come up with the win if they finished off their chances.

Paulinho certainly missed a sitter just on half time but hey, thats footy.

Was a good yardstick for us and also highlighted where we still need to work. We just dont seem to gel upfront yet but considering they are mostly all new players up front its understandable.

I wouldn't call Paulinho's a sitter, that is a very tough angle to score from even for top players.

The game showed how strong we are at centre mid, Paulinho and Dembele were dominant for a lot of the game. But it also showed that Chelsea's first eleven still outclasses us and probably any other team in the league. How do you defend against Mata, Hazard, Oscar and (when he's on) Torres all at once?

You don't

Which is why Mourinho is doing the rest of the league a favour by playing Ramires or that tard Schurrle out there.

I know, but surely after that game and the difference Mata made he will come to his senses and keep those three out there. Unbelievable what those three are capable of.
