Another game and another clean sheet against Anzhi in the arse crack of the earth. Shit pitch.

22 goals to 2 in all competitions.

Holty on fire again, he is having some season.

What's he done in the PL?

There isn't a team in the league that wouldn't annihilate Tbilisi, Tromso or Anzhi.

Not that I'm complaining. You destroying cannon fodder in the Europa doesn't affect Arsenal and the bookies haven't got their act together yet, you guys were paying 1.60 to beat a team that is bottom of the Russian PL and haven't won a game. That's free money.

Just on the Europa league, what are your guys thoughts on it? Do you hope AVB goes for it again? There must be mixed feelings about it considering it probably cost you a top 4 spot last season.

Why dont you go and worry about your own teams leaky defence. 9th in the EPL for goals against and all against bottom teams.

Imagine how many it would be if you'd ever faced any decent teams so far, apart from Spurs.

Calm your farm champ. If you want to get all hissy about it I don't mind.

What does it say about your team's offense if our shit defense is still enough to stay above you guys? Does it suck that this is your best start to a season for pretty much ever and you're still in our shadow?

I think you should go worry about that turd of a striker you threw 20+ mill at to get. Has he scored from open play yet?

I hope we go for it. I just want to win something to be honest. Europa League, League Cup, FA Cup, whatever. It's what the game is all about after all, not just coming fourth (I actually don't mean to be sarcastic saying that to an Arsenal fan- just saying what I think)

My question was an honest one so I'm pleased someone answered it.

You're definitely favorites for it at this stage, obviously there's the CL teams to drop into after the group stage but I think if you do go for it you've got a decent chance.

I think for a team that isn't used to being in the CL missing out on it again isn't a massive deal. Whereas if Arsenal dropped out there's no way of knowing what sort of effect that would have on us.

You keep saying it as if it means something. 16 of your goals have come against scrubs in the Europa league ffs haha. Hull have had just as tough a start as you and they've scored as many goals.

A decent defense means f**k all if when you come up against a half decent team you struggle. Which has been the case both times you've played someone higher than 10th.

Realistic Spurs fans (if there is such a thing) realized pretty quickly that with all the signings we were probably going to struggle quite a bit in the first half of the season, perhaps longer. Losing our main attacking threat from last season, still dealing with the loss of Modric and VDV, and bringing in a load of players in key positions.

Lamela is still being blooded - much like Lloris last season - we've got Rose/Naughton at left back, Dembele/Paulinho/Capoue/Sandro are all forming combinations, you've got Eriksen behind Soldado, who himself is in an entirely different league play-style wise to to Spain. Then you've got Townsend and Siggurdson as our starting wingers (until AVB starts to put Lamela in the 11). So many changes. I expected us to drop a lot of points, but we are playing a lot better than we were last season. The really great thing is that we've got Kaboul to come back, Sandro and Lennon still getting fit (though Townsend may have ousted him), Lamela to move into the 11, etc. The players are only going to get better with more game time together.

Considering that we are only two points behind Arsenal at the moment - who didn't really lose any of their main players and added a world class player - I think we are doing very well considering. We usually drop loads of points against the teams we have played against, that is what usually kills us at the end of the season, but we have improved a lot overall so it doesn't seem to be an issue anymore - at least so far.

As far as Soldado goes, having actually watched every minute of him in a Spurs jersey in the EPL, you are completely wrong on him. 'Turd'? I know you are trolling a bit but even then, the guy is playing far better than people give him credit for. His positioning and strikes have been almost perfect, he has been so consistently good there that really there are only two reasons he hasn't been scoring goals, and only one of them is his fault. If you look at how we play, most of our shots are coming from our two wingers cutting in and taking the shot from either just outside or just inside the box. Even with Eriksen, we actually aren't feeding Soldado as much as we really should. Additionally, he's been very unlucky not to score at least another five goals to the two he has; times where has done everything right but been denied by fantastic goalkeeping or one of our own players messing up.

He's not banging them in, which is obviously an issue, but his overall play has been excellent and I'm sure the goals will come eventually when he gets a bit more luck and ball going his way. You only need to look at the goals he has helped set up to see that he is a far better overall player than either Defoe - who I will however say I am extremely glad we kept - and Adebayor.

Soldado has been doing a good job so far no doubt. The goal Tottenham scored against Chelsea was executed perfectly due to Soldado's passing and positioning. I agree with Boxhead that with some luck Soldado will be scoring more goals. Just because you are not scoring goals doesn't mean your not doing your job as a striker. Atm he is being a team player by stringing passes and creating chances in front of goal. In this regard he is already doing a good job.
