nothing overnite, will go down to the wire in typical Levy style

if I had to guess at this stage it looks like Diarra and one of KB/Suarez/Forlan/Fab

I find it hard that Levy would want Forlan or Fab, both too old an no resale but we are shopping this 4 off against one another and dont beleive anything you read in the press. KB seems to be the first choice but wages are a issue.

It has to come in the next few days though doesn't it? We have to make our decisions quickly I think, but we have to make sure we take enough time so as not to rush ourselves and make a big mistake. Signing KB is the obvious choice but if wages are an issue then it's fair that they are looking at others.
Again, thanks Twiz :)

We got lucky with VDV who we signed at 5pm the day after the transfer window had closed (didnt we?), hopefully we get it done soon.

Although we did get a bargain that way with VDV

My tip for what its worth we'll get Forlan just over KB because of the wage issue not much else will happen with regards to other players, probably more out then in

my guess, 3 in 5 out

Bearing in mind we've already signed K unta Kinte (cant remember his name, African centre back from the WC) and Pinnaar. Also looks like there could be a few young players coming in (juniors).

Harry having a winge in the press this morning about how frustrated he is, players want to come to us because of CL footy but we just cant pay anyone over 70K a week and al these players are already on over 100K a week. Until we get a stadium with a bigger capacity than 36K we cannot generate enough money to sustain the wages.

Having a good income atm from CL footy doesn't mean we can sustain it of we dont make the 4 again this year, so we cant rely on that and the stadium will take about 2 years at least to build.

According to Levy we will stagnate of we dont upgrade which means moving out of Tottenham but with no local knowledge I've asked the question, how far away is Stratford, and its apparently 5 ks, so I'm not sure what the big deal is.

I trust Levy's judgement and he is looking at getting Spurs up there and sustainable for the long term, not just the next few years so we still may have some ups and downs over the next few years.

Also heard something very interesting this morning in that harry will retire in a few years (old news I know) or he may go onto coach the poms, and believe it or not, Jose sees Spurs as his next challenge which apparently why we are getting a few of his discards atm, he really likes Levy and Spurs. Just hearsay atm but who knows ?

Interesting times ahead.

Its 5 miles away. So about 8 km. Not far at all considering how good the tube is there. But you can see how some people are getting angry, guess we are just used to it in Australia with quite a few teams playing away from their suburbs. But in the long run, I think the move would definitely help us at least with our money and playing roster situation, which is Levys point.

I want signings now!

just on signings, this is the current scenario

harry: I dont care how good they are no one is worth those kind of wages

daniel: but harry, if we are gonna match it with the top epl teams we need to match those ridiculous wages and players do want to play for us

harry: I dont care how good they are, no one is worth those kind of wages

daniel: make up your mind harry, or I'll make it up for you

thats pretty much where we're at atm, harry wont pay anyone more than about 80k a week, he's a bit of a traditionalist but I think he needs to get with the times

that was in the Mirror, no quotes or any substance in the article

they dont want to sell him and we are aiming a fair bit higher than Carroll

wont happen imo

Well more reports coming out that Tottenham bid 25mil for Carroll, albeit from The Sun.

If youre going a fair bit higher than that, Spurs must be after Torres as well.

Not after Torres although we may have tried, we've never bid for Carroll despite what the papers say. He's never been for sale.

New striker on the horizon who would "fit" (plays for the Spanish National team) RM pulled out when they got Ade so pointed us in his direction, I think we've spoken to everyone in Europe now, pulled out of the Suarez deal as he's not the ideal target man.

The new target seems to be fairly advanced and now seems more probable than possible but that could change tomorrow the way things are going. Fab and Forlan are off our shopping list.

apparently we did put in our one and only bid for Carroll last night (23mill) although he remains our plan B

Levy in Spain right now trying to do a deal with plan A

Source? Everything else out there seems to be pointing to us (stupidly) sitting on our hands this window, in regards to getting a striker.

Twizzle, does the striker you are speaking of play regularly for the Spanish national team?
Because if you mean their regular striker.....holy hell.
I looked it up, you said the player is "advanced", you can't mean anyone else.
I think I'm going to go crazy if this happens.

If you can, can you just clarify if that is who you mean? Thanks.
