getting interresting

Wolffsburg also want Pav as they got money to spend after selling Dzeko, and Babel went to Wolfsburg last night so the Babel plus cash offer by scousers is off the table for Suarez

Pienaar announced on our OS, Bent to Villa confirmed so we got our 4mill knock on, money to spend and we cant agree on where to spend

as I alluded to above, we dont need 2 VDVs, Levy wants Suarez, young and well priced good investment, harry cant see him fitting into our team and doesn't want him, harry want no 2 (Fab) but Levy wont buy old farts

the plot thickens

O'Hara is also reportedly off on a loan, Keane maybe to makems to replace Bent, as long as they are moving out they will be replaced

long way to go

When you say Harry wants Fab do you mean Luis Fabiano?
Also good news about Pienarr, hopefully also we can snatch up either Fabiano (if he is the one you are talking about) or Suarez, I just hope Levy and Harry can agree on a decision before both players fall out of reach.

Suarez is a good investment for Levy but not a lone striker.

I dont understand harry's obsession with LF and Levy doesn't see him as a viable investment unless its just a loan.

There are also other targets, like I said, still a long way to go.

Still working on Spice Boy btw, he's training with us but harry wants to buy him.

I agree, Suarez would be a good but he doesn't fit the striker role we need.

The thing about Fabiano, to me, is that he is 30 and still has a few good years left and would be good value for money (if we bought him).

On Becks, yeah I saw earlier that Harry wants to outright buy him (his contract ends around November right?), I think that would be huge for us if it happened, not only because of his quality (even though he wouldn't get the start ahead of Lennon, Modric, etc) but the attention and money it would bring in.

If I had to choose between Suarez and Fabiano, well Fabiano is an out-an-out striker which would definitely help us for a few years, whilst Suarez could potentially be a great investment over the long-term. Hard to choose in my opinion, as pointed out we don't exactly need another VDV but either option is still very good.

And as you said there are other targets we could go for, hell some paper randomly linked us to Torres!

They are already raving about Becks and what he offers at training. They want him to work with Bale and Lennon and their crossing which I can understand, but our biggest problem is that we dont really have a target other than 2 metre Peter who really offers nothing when he gets the ball.

Yeah I think getting Becks would be huge, and would definitely help our team out a lot. I agree with you on the striker front, Crouch's only viable strength is his heading because he is so big, aside from that we have lazy Pav and Defoe who is out of form. If Defoe ignites then problem solved, but we do need another good striker, which is why I can understand Harry's interest in Fabiano.

It sounds like Becks may still yet play for us at some point in the next few weeks?

Also Fab's manager has dejected the Spurs' transfer claims.

Any updates Twiz?

not really

all I know is Levy want Suarez and Harry doesn't see him being worth the reported 30mill, but apparently we made an offer, its between us and sousers but they seem to want him more than we do as they may have offered higher wages, this is all hearsay of course

he's one of 4 targets now and while we've spoken to Fab, we have not made an official offer as he wants pretty big wages

only thing that seems certain atm, is that we have money to spend so something will happen, no idea what atm

Thanks Twiz :)
Yeah I can't wait to see who we end up with (if we do-should hopefully), all we are missing at the moment is another good striker or top-calibre striker to consistently score goals for us. In fairness to Defoe he has been injured most of the season, we are just very lucky VDV and Bale have scored so many for us.

Two interesting articles published in the past day or so, one of them being pretty endearing and the other rather sad.

The first one; Redknapp was in Madrid to watch Diego Forlan play (scouting), although he confirmed Forlan's wages were far too high to be worth going after; Redknapp was mugged by six men, but he is thankfully unharmed.

The second one, a nice interview article with Assou-Ekotto. Seems like a really cool guy, some hilarious parts here and there.

I was waiting for Forlan rumours to appear again in all likeliness I think we'd be a bigger chance of getting him then the other two

Personally I think Suary is the only option of the three that we would be able to attract, I doubt Fab would want to come and Forlan is too expensive. Would be a massive coup if we got even one of the three though.

Hey, just wanted to ask did anyone watch the Spurs game on the weekend? How did Pienarr go on debut - I also heard Bale was out injured?

Bale has a back injury, he was playing FB as BAE was also out injured.

Bad news on both fronts and to boot we have no other left backs in the club, Harry looking for some one on a free atm. No news on Bale yet but could be out for a while.

SP played a useful game, about a 6.5 out of 10. Got subbed by Kranky near the end. He'll need a few more games to fit in I think.

What's everyone's thoughts on the stadium situation?

Everyone in England seems to be really pissed off about the possibility of moving away from N17, rightly so probably.

I was firstly against it; however, as an aussie fan, who doesn't go to the games every 22 weeks, I could see how the extra cash we would save is tempting.

Its a stupid idea.

First, its supposed to be an olympic legacy stadium providing a world class athletics venue. Hence the public money used to build it. The complete shambles was building a seperate Wembley and Olympic venue. To many egos running unchecked are having huge effects now. So thank you mr Blair and Brown.

Second its not in or anyhere near Tottenham. Its in the East End, near to Leyton Orient and West Ham. Not North London, where Spurs are.
It would be like Manly deciding to build a new stadium in Sydney Harbour by knocking down the opera house. Stupid.
